We are seeking a Veterinary Ophthalmologist to join our established and growing referral center in Tacoma, Washington. In Your Day-to-Day, You Will:
- Diagnose and treat a wide range of medical and surgical ophthalmic conditions
- Perform advanced ophthalmic procedures utilizing modern microsurgical and diagnostic equipment
- Collaborate closely with Internal Medicine, Neurology, Oncology, Critical Care, Surgery, Radiology, and Emergency Services on shared patient care
- Build and cultivate relationships with referring veterinarians throughout the Pacific Northwest
- Mentor technicians and support staff while helping grow the ophthalmology service
- Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams to provide seamless, compassionate patient care
- Communicate clearly and empathetically with pet owners during stressful and emotional situations
- Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture built on collaboration, mentorship, and continuous learning

Your ophthalmology service will be supported by advanced equipment including:
- Zeiss OPMI Visu 150 Microscope
- Sonomed Escalon VuPad B-Scan Ocular Ultrasound
- Digital Retinal Camera
- ERG and cPLR Tester
- Signature Pro Phaco Unit
- Endolaser with Iridex Power Source
What You Bring
- DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for Washington state veterinary licensure
- Board Certification in Ophthalmology (DACVO) or residency-trained status
- Strong communication skills with a compassionate, client-centered approach
- A collaborative mindset and commitment to exceptional patient care
- A passion for continuous learning, teamwork, and advancing specialty medicine
- Interest in growing a specialty service within a high-volume referral environment
