Full Job Description

Overview

Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Occupational Therapist, where you will play a vital role in enhancing patient independence and quality of life through specialized therapeutic interventions. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with children and their families. You will collaborate with other professions to develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans tailored to each individual’s needs, supporting clients with various disabilities and neurodevelopmental disorders. Your expertise will help empower patients to achieve their goals and regain confidence in their daily activities.

Duties

Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments to evaluate clients’ physical, cognitive, and emotional functioning.
Develop personalized treatment plans that incorporate client goals, medical history, and evidence-based practices.
Implement occupational therapy programs focused on improving activities of daily living (ADLs), motor skills, sensory processing, and functional independence.
Assist clients with discharge planning by coordinating care transitions and providing education for caregivers and families.
Support individuals with autism spectrum disorders, neurodevelopmental disorders, and disabilities through targeted interventions and skill development.
Document clinical progress accurately using electronic health records (EHR) systems while ensuring compliance with medical documentation standards.
Collaborate with speech therapists, physical therapists, physicians, educators, and case managers to deliver holistic patient care.

Skills

Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to occupational therapy practice.
Experience working with children and families with disabilities.
Proven ability to develop effective treatment plans tailored to unique client needs in the pediatric setting.
Skilled in assisting with ADLs, discharge planning, and implementing occupational therapy assessments.
Expertise in working with clients with neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism, sensory processing, developmental delays, etc.
Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) management and clinical documentation standards.
Excellent client communication skills combined with the ability to collaborate within interprofessional teams for optimal patient outcomes.
