Full Job Description

Position Summary:

The Production Technician is responsible for inspecting materials, components, and finished products throughout the production process to ensure they meet established quality and safety standards. This role performs in-process and final quality checks, documents inspection results, and identifies non-conforming products so they can be corrected or removed from production. The Production Technician works closely with production staff and the Production & Quality Manager to troubleshoot quality issues, support continuous improvement efforts, and help maintain a safe, efficient, and compliant manufacturing environment.

Job Duties:

Perform in-process and final inspections of components and finished products against established quality specifications.
Use measuring instruments and testing equipment (e.g., calipers, gauges, scales) to verify product conformance.
Document inspection results, defects, and non-conformances accurately and in a timely manner.
Identify, tag, and segregate non-conforming products, and notify production staff and the Production & Quality Manager of quality issues.
Assist in root-cause investigations and corrective action activities for recurring quality issues.
Calibrate, maintain, and verify the accuracy of inspection and testing equipment.
Support incoming material inspections and verify supplier compliance with quality requirements.
Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area in compliance with safety and quality procedures.

Required Skills:

Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify defects and inconsistencies.
Computer literacy required, including intermediate skills in MS applications (i.e., Word, Excel, PPT, etc.).
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and quality standards.
Good verbal and written communication skills for documenting and reporting quality issues.
Positive attitude, self-motivated, and eager to succeed.

Qualifications:

Experience using measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges) preferred.
Minimum 1 year of experience in a production, manufacturing, or quality inspection role.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Must successfully complete pre-employment testing.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, and frequently required to stand for extended periods at a workstation or production line.
The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel small parts and tools, and to reach with hands and arms.
This position requires the ability to occasionally lift products and parts, up to 30 pounds.

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
