The Treasury Associate, Cash Reconciliations performs the daily cash-to-ledger reconciliation and control activities that verify the firm’s cash balances tie to its banks of record, ensuring the books balance and that sufficient client reserves are maintained. Working across the firm’s image cash letter and primary concentration accounts, the role reconciles daily wire and check activity, classifies items as firm or client, and identifies, investigates, and reports breaks to accountable business units for timely resolution. The role also supports the daily reserve (15c3-3) attestation; administers domestic and foreign exchange bank accounts and RJF Treasury internal systems; performs monthly bank fee aggregation and user access reviews; and prepares related general ledger entries. Applying advanced skills gained through education and experience, the Treasury Associate works from established procedures and general direction on complex, non-routine assignments, resolves most questions independently, escalates new or unusual issues as appropriate, serves as a resource to others on complex matters, and maintains routine contact with internal and external partners to obtain, clarify, and provide information.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform daily GL-to-bank reconciliations across image cash letter (ICL) and primary concentration accounts, confirming that PeopleSoft cash balances tie to bank-of-record statements.
Reconcile daily wire and check activity flowing through concentration accounts to support the firm’s reserve calculation and ensure the books balance.
Classify reconciling items as firm or client, resolve splits, duplicates, and one-to-many matches, and validate journal and reference IDs.
Identify, investigate, and report reconciliation breaks, coordinating with accountable business units (e.g., Financial Reporting, Cash Control, and the wire team) to ensure timely resolution.
Support the daily reserve (15c3-3) attestation and hand off final reconciliations for regulatory reporting.
Reconcile bank accounts supporting wire transfers, cash management, and check deposit activity.
Establish and maintain bank account access for business users and perform periodic user access reviews.
Perform monthly bank fee aggregation, summarization, and posting across banking partners.
Administer bank account setup, closure, and master log maintenance, including ServiceNow request intake and PeopleSoft account configuration.
Ensure bank account information is accurately established and maintained in PeopleSoft Treasury to support wire processing, cash management, and treasury reporting activities.
Monitor wire activity and follow up on unposted wires, and prepare bank statement files and supporting documentation.
Prepare daily general ledger entries and perform monthly post-close accounting entries.
Support compliance deliverables for internal and external auditors and SOX, ensuring adherence to continually evolving external regulatory requirements.
Review Treasury processes and implement best practices to strengthen controls, improve auditability, and drive process improvement and automation.
Support Treasury projects, including bank account and service rationalization and treasury technology deployments (e.g., reconciliation and treasury management systems).
Provide day-to-day support and ad hoc analysis to the Treasury team, assist in maintaining policy and procedure manuals, and perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Working knowledge of general office practices, procedures, and methods.
Solid understanding of accounting concepts, practices, and procedures.
Knowledge of bank accounts and bank operations.
Proficiency with the PeopleSoft General Ledger and PeopleSoft Financials systems.
Skilled in entering transactions into an automated accounting system.
Skilled in reconciling bank and general ledger accounts.
Ability to analyze and adjust transactions and account balance discrepancies.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and strategic thinking skills.
Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel using formulas and simple macros.
Ability to identify and resolve accounting problems.
Strong collaboration and presentation skills, with exceptional written and verbal communication.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities while providing a high level of customer service.
Ability to manage time efficiently and remain focused for extended periods.
