Senior Accountant

Location: St. Petersburg, FL
Schedule: Hybrid
Salary: $95,000 - $100,000 annually

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing finance team. This role is ideal for a motivated accounting professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, partnering with business leaders, and driving process improvements. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in month-end close, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and maintaining the integrity of financial data.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Lead month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Perform complex account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
Prepare and record journal entries in compliance with GAAP.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Support internal and external audit processes by providing documentation and explanations as needed.
Review financial transactions and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Monitor and maintain fixed assets, accruals, prepaid expenses, and other balance sheet accounts.
Collaborate with cross-functional departments to improve financial processes and internal controls.
Assist with sales tax, property tax, and other regulatory reporting requirements.
Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior accounting staff when applicable.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
Experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Experience with ERP/accounting systems.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications

CPA designation or CPA-track candidate preferred.
Experience in a high-growth or multi-entity environment.
Strong process improvement and systems implementation experience.

Pay Details: $95,000.00 to $100,000.00 per year
