Summary
We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer/Machinist to join our team at Jorgensen Steel Machining & Fabrication Inc. As a CNC Programmer/Machinist, you will play a crucial role in producing precision components that meet our high standards of quality. Responsibilities
- Set up, perform tool changes, operate CNC machines and manage offsets to produce precision parts according to specifications.
- Program CNC machines using Okuma Conversational control for optimal performance.
- Program and set up lathe milling and drilling operations.
- Read and interpret blueprints accurately.
- Work primarily with steel materials and maintain tight tolerances.
- Contribute to a prototype or similar job shop environment.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments to inspect finished products for quality assurance, which includes calipers, micrometers, and bore gauges.
- Perform quality checks on all finished products.
- Collaborate with team members to improve production processes and workflows.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace in compliance with safety standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a CNC Lathe Programming with conversational or G-Code.
- Capability to set up and operate CNC Machinery.
- Solid understanding of machining processes and techniques.
- Blueprint reading and interpretation skills a must.
- Possession of a personal toolbox and necessary tools.
- Proficiency with measurement tools like micrometers, calipers, and bore gauges.
- Live tooling an Milling wanted but no required.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
- Familiarity with CAD software is a plus but not required.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other machinery safely is beneficial.
- Ability to follow written procedures, policies, and instructions.
- Ability to work alone and/or with team.
- Ability to lift, bend, stand, and twist.
