Job Overview
As a Mobile Dog Bather with Happy Spa Dogs Mobile Grooming, you’ll drive a fully equipped salon van to clients’ homes and deliver professional baths, blow-dries, and de-sheds for non-groom breeds that don’t require haircuts—think Labs, Shepherds, Huskies, and more. You’ll keep 7–10 pups per shift safe, calm, and squeaky-clean while upholding flawless sanitation and five-star customer service. This role is the first step in our Groomer Training Program, giving you a clear path to launch a full grooming career.
Please Note: This is a Temporary Full-Time position (1–3 month assignment). Think of it as your introduction too dog grooming and evaluation period to get promoted to dog groomer. We are actively looking to promote successful Bathers into our Groomer Training Program! Advancement and transition to a permanent grooming career will be heavily based on your reliability, attitude, speed, and communication skills with clients!

Duties
- Bath & De-Shedding – Perform thorough washes, conditioning, blow-dries, and safe under-coat removal tailored to each non-groom breed’s coat and skin needs.
- Client Service – Greet owners warmly, explain services, handle payments/tips, and leave every home with a five-star, Happy Spa Dogs impression.
- Sanitation – Disinfect tubs, tools, and van surfaces between appointments, following strict hygiene checklists to protect pets and crew.
- Safe Driving & Route Management – Operate the mobile salon van carefully, stay on schedule for 6-8 stops per shift, and communicate delays or maintenance needs promptly.
- Growth & Learning – Actively engage in our Groomer Training Program and on-the-job coaching to progress toward full grooming certification.
Must Haves
- Gentle Canine Handling – Confident, low-stress restraint and bath techniques that keep every pup calm and safe.
- Physical Stamina – Lift large breeds, stand/bend for long shifts, and blow-dry large, double-coated breeds without fatigue.
- Drivers License – Valid California license and comfort maneuvering a high-roof grooming van between multiple stops.
- Sanitation Awareness – Meticulous about disinfecting tubs, tools, and surfaces to exceed health-and-safety standards.
- Customer-First Communication – Warm, clear updates that put pet parents at ease and reinforce the Happy Spa Dogs brand.
Nice-to-Haves
- Prior Bathing or Kennel Tech Experience – Hands-on time with dogs in a professional or volunteer setting.
- Pet First-Aid & CPR Training – Ability to respond calmly and correctly to minor health incidents on the van.
- Basic Van or Equipment Maintenance Know-How – Comfort troubleshooting a clogged tub drain or loose sprayer on the fly.
- Product Knowledge Enthusiast – Interest in different shampoos, conditioners, and coat treatments to match each dog’s skin and coat needs.
