Automotive Service AdvisorJob Summary

We are seeking an experienced and customer-focused Automotive Service Advisor to join our service team. This position serves as the key communication link between our customers and technicians, helping identify vehicle concerns, recommend needed maintenance and repairs, prepare accurate repair orders, and deliver an exceptional service experience from start to finish.

The ideal candidate has automotive service experience, strong communication skills, a working knowledge of vehicle repairs and maintenance, and the ability to build lasting customer relationships.

Responsibilities

Greet customers and listen carefully to their vehicle concerns, service needs, and requested repairs.
Ask clear follow-up questions to better understand symptoms, performance issues, and maintenance needs.
Review vehicle maintenance history, service schedules, warranty coverage, and service contract information.
Explain warranty and service contract provisions, exclusions, deductibles, and customer responsibilities.
Prepare accurate repair estimates by calculating parts, supplies, labor, taxes, and customer-pay amounts.
Create detailed repair orders by documenting customer concerns, technician findings, recommended services, and approved repairs.
Obtain customer approvals and signatures before work begins.
Enter repair order information accurately into the dealership service system.
Maintain consistent communication with customers regarding repair status, estimates, approvals, completion times, and vehicle pickup.
Answer customer questions and address concerns in a professional, helpful manner.
Assist with transportation needs, including towing or temporary transportation when applicable.
Maintain accurate service records by documenting vehicle issues, recommended repairs, completed work, and corrective actions.
Stay current on manufacturer updates, service procedures, training materials, and dealership processes.
Help strengthen the dealership’s reputation by taking ownership of customer concerns and looking for ways to add value to every service visit.

Requirements

Working knowledge of automotive maintenance and repairs.
Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
Sales experience preferred.
Comfortable using computers, dealership software, CRM tools, and other technology.
Ability to explain technical information in a clear, customer-friendly way.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work in a fast-paced service department environment.

Work Location

This is an in-person position. Remote work is not available.
