Rate: $39 per hour W2

Description:
The Tennessee Department of Health, Division of Family Health and Wellness is seeking a Nurse Abstractor within the Reproductive and Women's Health section.

The goal of the abstractor position is to comprehensively gather pertinent information to accurately capture the events of a person's life leading up to and including death.

Key duties include:

Receiving identified deaths for review
Promptly abstracting information
Establishing relationships with hospitals and facilities to obtain medical records
Reviewing records and completing MMRIA forms accurately
Drafting case narratives
Attending review committee meetings
Assisting with data entry of committee decision forms into MMRIA
Conducting informant interviews
Staying updated on best practices for case abstraction through monthly abstractor meetings and an annual MMRIA user meeting.
