Position Summary

The Collections Specialist is responsible for managing and improving the accounts receivable process by ensuring timely collection of outstanding invoices. This role involves working directly with customers, insurance companies, and internal teams to resolve billing disputes, facilitate payments, and maintain strong cash flow for the organization. The Collections Specialist will also help enhance the overall collections process to minimize delinquency and improve financial performance. This role is eligible for incentives between $10,000 and $30,000 annually.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Receivable & Collections Management

Monitor and manage a portfolio of outstanding accounts, ensuring timely collection of payments.
Contact customers via phone, email, and written correspondence to follow up on overdue invoices.
Work with insurance companies, adjusters, and customers to facilitate payment processing.
Document collection efforts, including payment commitments, disputes, and resolutions.
Identify and escalate problem accounts to management for further action.

Customer Communication & Relationship Management

Maintain a professional and customer-friendly approach when contacting clients about overdue balances.
Educate customers on payment policies, terms, and available payment options.
Work with field teams and customer service representatives to address payment-related inquiries and concerns.
Negotiate payment plans or settlements as needed while adhering to company policies.

Process Improvement & Reporting

Assist in developing and refining collections policies and procedures.
Track and report on collections activity, including outstanding balances, aging reports, and recovery rates.
Recommend process improvements to reduce late payments and enhance efficiency.
Support month-end closing activities related to accounts receivable.

Compliance & Documentation

Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements regarding collections.
Properly document all communication and collection activities for audit and reporting purposes.
Collaborate with legal teams on accounts requiring further action or escalation.

Preferred Education and Experience

· Experience: 3+ years of experience in collections, accounts receivable, or customer service, preferably in the restoration, construction, or insurance industry.

· Skills: Familiarity with insurance claim billing, lien rights, and restoration service contracts is a plus. Proficiency in billing and collections software, CRM tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.

· Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
