Summary/Objective
Suggest, recommend, sell, and serve food and drinks in a professional manner while creating a sense of personalization and customization for all guests.
Essential Functions
- Engage with members with warmth, kindness, and personalized attention.
- Welcome members with a sincere and warm greeting as they enter the restaurant/bar.
- Ask about member preferences to gain a deeper understanding of their needs and desires.
- Recognize and anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests, regardless of how busy it is and at any time of the day.
- Ensure that as member preferences are discovered, they are promptly updated in the POS system to provide a personalized and seamless experience for each member.
- Enhance sales by offering valuable suggestions, recommending menu items, and skillfully upselling both non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages, as well as food options.
- Follow the steps of food and beverage service as outlined in the training manual.
- Prepare service stations and the host area, as well as set up tables before the start of service.
- Review member preferences for all reservations, and have the table set with all necessary items and any specific preferences before the guest arrives.
- Use a computer POS system to ring orders on a check, manage guest checks, and manage guest payments by accepting different types of payment and making change.
- Ensure the highest level of caution and safety measures are strictly adhered to for allergies, in accordance with the procedures outlined in the training manual.
- Clear and reset tables in accordance with established standards during service.
- Ensure prompt delivery of food and beverages.
- Provide service for an average of five to eight tables simultaneously while effectively multitasking (Server).
- Handle a minimum of 3 heavy plates and transport fully loaded beverage trays containing various cocktails and other service-related items throughout the service period.
- Ensure the restaurant and back-of-house areas remain clean and well-organized.
- Ensure proper care and cleanliness of serving equipment. Handle china, glassware, and silverware carefully to prevent breakage and maintain their cleanliness.
- Inform the manager of all guest comments and complaints.
- Check identification of members to ensure they are of legal age to consume alcoholic beverages. Politely decline to serve beverages to members who are not of legal age.
- Set up and break down for Food and Beverage events, including chairs, tables, glassware, and other tabletop wares.
- Interact with guests effectively while proficiently managing side-work duties such as delivering drinks, serving food, and polishing glassware, among other responsibilities.
- Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, preparation methods and times, ingredients, and quality standards of taste, appearance, texture, serving temperature, portion size, garnish, and method of presentation.
- Ensure that all food and beverage items are correctly stored, labeled, dated, and rotated to prevent any health or safety hazards and take precautions against possible spoilage.
- Take orders for all food and beverage requests from both guests and service staff.
- Ensure that all state and local laws and club policies and procedures for the service of alcoholic beverages are consistently followed.
- Become knowledgeable with the wine list, appropriate stemware, and garnishes used.
Bartender-Specific Functions
- Practice beverage and revenue control procedures.
- Document item transfers for the respective month, maintaining proper accountability and inventory control.
- Document expired wine before disposal, distribution to the kitchen, or being given to a team member to take home.
- Process payments for drinks before preparing and serving them.
- Clear and reset the bar during service, and consistently clean both the bar area and glassware throughout the shift.
- Prepare all juices, purees, and syrups required prior to the shift.
- Ensure garnishes are fresh, maintaining a vibrant appearance and free from any signs of aging.
- Prepare fresh juices, bar syrups, shrubs, and mixes, and check dates to ensure freshness.
- Complete nightly closing checklist and prepare supplies needed for the following day.
- Prepare cocktails as ordered, within recipe and guest preferences, ensuring precise measurements using a jigger for each beverage.
- Complete opening and closing daily side-work tasks for the bar.
- Securely lock the liquor and bar area at the end of each shift.
- Maintain a clean and organized bar area, ensuring it is fully stocked and free of clutter.
Marginal Functions

- Treat all members in a manner that ensures their complete satisfaction.

- Possess comprehensive knowledge about all departmental functions and the daily operations of the club, including events and operating hours.
- Collaborate as a team and effectively communicate with management, servers, and service staff in order to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by members and/or other associates.
- Demonstrated teamwork skills, including a willingness to both offer and request assistance when necessary.
- Demonstrate the capacity to work collaboratively and share workspace with colleagues while jointly managing responsibilities to ensure swift and efficient service (Bartender).
- Assist with front-of-house tasks to meet business demands, including greeting tables, taking initial drink orders, and polishing glassware and silverware.
- Demonstrate flexibility by willingly taking on different roles and responsibilities based on business needs, ensuring a smooth operation during peak hours.
- Report to work in a neat, clean uniform with well-groomed appearance and personal hygiene.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This position operates in a restaurant setting. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. Employees may be exposed to hazards including, but not limited to, cuts, slipping, tripping, falls, and burns. Frequent hand washing is required.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are typically lunch shifts Tuesday through Saturday, 11:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.; dinner shifts Thursday through Saturday, 4:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m., and may be adjusted for business needs. Ability to work weekends, holidays, days, and evenings with flexible hours. The schedule is subject to change, and applicants must be flexible with schedule adjustments.

- No travel is expected for this position.
Required Education and Experience
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous restaurant experience required.
Preferred Education and Experience
- An understanding of basic cocktail recipes and/or bartending experience is preferred.
- Prior experience in a fine dining or refined service restaurant setting is preferred.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
- Must be fluent in English speaking, reading, and writing.
Work Authorization
- Must have valid work authorization to work in the United States for I-9 form purposes.
