JOB SUMMARY Innovation Academy Charter School seeks a custodian for a full-time position, starting immediately. This position works in tandem with the Facilities Manager to keep the school looking its best, while serving the needs of the teacher and student community in regards to work requests, cleaning, and light maintenance. The position splits its time between morning duties throughout the school and portering the cafeteria for Middle School and High School lunches. An interest in helping the school advance its composting program, which is in its 2nd year, is a plus!RESPONSIBILITIESThe following is a sample of duties the individual may be required to perform; it is not all-inclusive: - Responsible for cleaning the facilities as needs arise, including trash removal, floor cleaning general cleaning, and sanitizing;- Stocking supplies such as copy paper or classroom paper towels- Porter for School Lunches- Maintaining Trash Bins, Helping Students Sort Compostable Items, Sweeping the Cafeteria, and Wiping Tables as Needed- Sets up school and miscellaneous events; and other related duties.

Ability to address light maintenance issues as needed- Respond to building related issues during off hours as needed - Manage student drop off and pick up as directedSKILLS- Ability to work both independently and with colleagues on assignments- Detail oriented and proactive in problem solving with an eye for making improvements throughout the school campus. - Ability to work well with individuals from many diverse backgrounds and professions, as well as the student body. - Must possess the physical ability to move and carry heavy loads; ability to climb stairs and ladders. The team shovels snow from some walkways during snow response.- Ability to Use Basic Tools such as Screwdrivers, Tape Measures, Paint Rollers for light maintenance workQUALIFICATIONS- Prior work experience is preferred.- Flexible schedule with an ability to work evenings and weekends if needed- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.- Exhibit a personality that demonstrates interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents and the community.- Ability to pass a State employee background check (CORI/SAFIS).- This is a 40 hour per week position, Monday - Friday.

Overtime may be available.Starting rate $18-$22/hr based on experience.ABOUT US: Innovation Academy is a project-based charter school in Tyngsborough serving students in grades 5-12.
