Development & Engagement Coordinator

Position Summary

The Development & Community Engagement Coordinator supports the organization's fundraising and community outreach efforts by coordinating fundraising events, assisting with volunteer engagement, building relationships with donors and community partners, and helping to maximize the success and financial impact of development initiatives. This position requires strong organizational skills, professionalism, creativity, and excellent communication abilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Fundraising & Development

*Assist with planning, coordinating, and executing fundraising events.

*Develop event timelines, task lists, and schedules.

*Prepare and monitor event budgets.

*Analyze event revenue, expenses, and return on investment (ROI).

*Assist in identifying sponsorship and fundraising opportunities.

*Prepare fundraising letters, donor appeals, acknowledgments, and mail campaigns.

*Maintain accurate donor and event records.

Community Relations

*Deliver presentations to civic groups, businesses, schools, and community organizations.

*Conduct tours of the food bank for donors, volunteers, and community partners.

*Represent the organization professionally at community events.

*Build and maintain positive relationships with donors, sponsors, and community partners.

Volunteer Support

*Assist with volunteer scheduling as needed.

*Support volunteer projects and special volunteer events.

*Help ensure volunteers receive a positive experience.

*Work collaboratively with the Volunteer *Coordinator during large events and volunteer projects.

*Administrative Responsibilities

*Track event expenses and revenues.

Prepare reports following fundraising events.

*Assist in developing annual fundraising calendars.

*Maintain organized files and documentation.

*Support the Development Director with special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

*Preferred experience in nonprofit management, communications, marketing, business, public relations, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.

*Experience coordinating events or fundraising activities preferred.

*Strong public speaking and presentation skills.

*Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

*Ability to prepare budgets and understand financial reports.

*Strong organizational and time-management skills.

*Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management.

*Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends for events.

*Preferred Skills

*Experience working with nonprofits.

*Knowledge of donor stewardship and fundraising best practices.

*Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships.

*Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

*Creative problem-solving and attention to detail.

Physical Requirements

*Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.

*Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during events.

*Reliable transportation for community meetings and events when required.
