Pavco Furniture | Ocala, FL
Full-Time | On-Site | Competitive Compensation
About Pavco Furniture
Pavco Furniture is a leader in the manufacturing of high-quality outdoor aluminum furniture. With a dedicated team of approximately 50 employees and annual sales exceeding $10 million, we are a growing, fast-moving company with a reputation for quality and craftsmanship in the outdoor living industry. We are poised for continued growth and are looking for the right leader to take our manufacturing operation to the next level.
About the Role
We are looking for a Plant Manager who is more than operationally competent — we need a leader. Someone who communicates clearly, follows through on commitments, builds trust across the organization, and drives a manufacturing facility to excellence every single day.
This is a hands-on leadership position. You will own the shop floor — from fabrication and welding through powder coating, finishing, and shipping. You will set the schedule and hold the team to it. You will communicate accurate, timely ETAs to our sales and customer service teams. And you will build a culture where safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement are not just values on the wall — they are the standard every day.
If you excel in scheduling, thrive on structure, love leading people, and get energized by pushing a manufacturing operation toward excellence — we want to talk to you.
What We Need in This Leader
We have learned exactly what this role requires. The right candidate will bring all of the following:
People Leadership
- Genuinely good with people — you build trust with your team, earn respect on the floor, and communicate in a way that motivates rather than alienates
- Ability to give and receive direction — you follow leadership's guidance while also holding your own team accountable
- Strong cross-functional communicator — especially with Sales and Customer Service on order status, ETAs, and production priorities
- Transparent, accurate, and timely — when you give an ETA or commit to a deadline, it is correct and it is met
Scheduling & Production Management
- Demonstrated ability to build a comprehensive shop floor schedule, communicate it effectively across all departments, and hold the organization accountable to it with precision and consistency
- Experience managing multi-department production schedules in a fast-moving manufacturing environment
- Ability to balance competing priorities without letting the schedule collapse under pressure
- Proactive — you identify bottlenecks before they become problems and adjust accordingly
Inventory & Materials
- Comprehensive understanding of inventory management principles — with the ability to maintain real-time visibility into raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods to ensure production targets are consistently met
- Experience maintaining raw material availability to meet production demands without over-ordering or running short
- Comfortable working within an ERP or production management system to track materials and work orders
Operational Excellence
- Driven to push a manufacturing facility to its highest level of performance — not just maintain it, but improve it
- A hands-on background in metal fabrication, welding, and powder coating is required
- Deep understanding of manufacturing operations, workflow optimization, and equipment maintenance
- Experience analyzing production costs and margins and translating data into actionable improvements
- Committed to OSHA compliance and leading a culture of safety — not just checking the box
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage day-to-day plant operations across fabrication, welding, paint, finishing, and shipping
- Build, communicate, and adhere to the production schedule — this is non-negotiable
- Provide accurate, consistent, and timely order status and ETAs to Sales and Customer Service teams
- Supervise and develop a team of 50+ employees across multiple departments
- Monitor and report on KPIs; maintain clear communication across all departments
- Maintain strict inventory controls and ensure raw materials meet production demands
- Enforce OSHA compliance and lead ongoing safety training and inspections
- Evaluate processes and equipment for opportunities to improve quality, increase efficiency, and reduce costs
- Analyze production costs and margins; provide actionable feedback for continuous improvement
- Collaborate closely with leadership on strategic operational goals and execution
Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of progressive manufacturing management experience, preferably with 25–75 employees
- Strong, hands-on background in metal fabrication, welding, and powder coating — this is required
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain a production schedule in a fast-paced environment
- Proven track record of clear, accurate communication with cross-functional teams including Sales and CS
- Experience with Salesforce or a comparable CRM platform — ability to leverage reporting and data to support production and sales alignment
- Experience with an inventory and work order processing system such as Fishbowl for Manufacturing, Fishbowl Warehouse, or a comparable ERP/MRP platform — familiarity with WO creation, fulfillment workflows, and inventory tracking is required
- Strong leadership, team-building, and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ability to work within production/ERP systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills — you must be comfortable communicating at all levels of the organization
- Ability to adapt, prioritize, and thrive under pressure without losing structure or communication quality
- Commitment to safety, quality, and a culture of continuous improvement
Preferred Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or a related field strongly preferred
- Equivalent hands-on experience in a manufacturing leadership role will be considered
