Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Laboratory Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting laboratory operations by assisting with various tasks related to specimen collection, processing, and patient care. This position is essential for ensuring the smooth functioning of laboratory procedures and delivering high-quality service to our patients.

Duties

Assist in the collection and processing of specimens, including blood sampling and venipuncture.
Perform laboratory procedures and techniques in accordance with established protocols.
Maintain accurate records of specimens and ensure proper labeling and documentation.
Support patient service by providing excellent care and addressing any inquiries related to specimen collection.
Utilize aseptic techniques to prevent contamination during specimen handling.
Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to safety standards.
Conduct basic laboratory tests under the supervision of qualified personnel.
Monitor vital signs when necessary and assist in patient care as required.
Maintain cleanliness and organization within the laboratory environment.

Skills

Proficient in laboratory procedures and techniques, with prior clinical laboratory experience preferred.
Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology is essential for effective communication and understanding of laboratory processes.
Experience in phlebotomy, including blood sampling and venipuncture techniques.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow protocols accurately.
Excellent patient service skills, demonstrating empathy and professionalism in interactions with patients.
Familiarity with specimen collection/processing methods is highly desirable.
