GENERAL SUMMARY
The ERP Administrator serves as the primary site lead for SAP Business One and related systems, driving ERP integration, system performance, and business process optimization within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for administering, securing, and enhancing the SAP HANA platform while ensuring alignment with operational goals, data integrity, and ITAR compliance requirements.
Acting as both a technical expert and business partner, the SAP System Administrator translates production processes into scalable ERP solutions, identifies inefficiencies, and implements system-driven improvements that enhance productivity and reduce operational bottlenecks. This position collaborates closely with IT leadership, manufacturing, engineering, and business stakeholders to ensure system reliability, data accuracy, and continuous process improvement.
The role requires a high level of ownership, analytical thinking, and adaptability, supporting everything from system administration and reporting to workflow design, training, and cross-functional communication. The SAP System Administrator plays a key role in connecting e-commerce, production, and operational systems while maintaining a strong focus on inventory integrity and production process fidelity.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
System Administration & Maintenance

Administer and maintain SAP Business One in an on-premises environment, including configuration, patches, and upgrades

Monitor SAP servers, system health, and backup processes to ensure reliability and availability

Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve ERP system issues; perform testing and system adjustments as needed

Coordinate with vendors on system updates, support, and infrastructure needs
ERP Optimization & Business Process Integration

Translate production workflows into ERP processes with a focus on efficiency, scalability, and data integrity

Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies; assist with redesigning processes to improve operational flow

Drive enhanced utilization of ERP systems to support business outcomes rather than system limitations

Support integration of SAP with e-commerce platforms, manufacturing systems, and other business applications
Data Management & Reporting

Develop and maintain reports using SAP, SQL, MRP systems, and Excel to support business decision-making

Perform data scrubbing, normalization, and organization of company data (including SKU integrity)

Analyze data trends to provide actionable insights and improve operational performance

Create tools and reporting solutions to support team productivity and performance
System Performance, Monitoring & Continuous Improvement

Monitor production output and system performance metrics

Proactively identify and resolve system or process issues to minimize disruption

Develop and implement preventive measures within SAP and operational workflows

Continuously evaluate system effectiveness and recommend improvements
Documentation, Training & Communication

Develop, maintain, and enforce SOPs, training materials, and system documentation

Create detailed guides and documentation for system use and process workflows

Provide training, guidance, and support to employees on SAP processes and tools

Act as a liaison between departments to improve ERP communication and usability

Communicate project progress, system updates, and improvement initiatives to stakeholders
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Support

Partner with manufacturing, engineering, operations, and leadership teams to support ERP-driven processes

Troubleshoot department-specific system and process issues

QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
Skills and Attributes

Strong proficiency in SQL, including queries, stored procedures, views, and reporting

Solid understanding of ERP business processes and workflows

Requirements

Strong understanding of ERP systems, SAP Business One, and SAP HANA environments

Proficiency with SQL, advanced Excel, and reporting tools

Experience with system integrations (e-commerce, MRP, MES, or similar platforms)

Knowledge of ITAR compliance and data security practices preferred

Proficiency with Windows Server and/or Linux environments

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Must be eligible to access ITAR-controlled data (U.S. Person status required)
