Position Summary
Fersa – NKE Bearings North America is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive 3PL Logistics Coordinator to join our Supply & Operations team at our Northwood, Ohio office. This role is the primary day-to-day liaison between FUSA and our third-party logistics (3PL) warehouse partners, responsible for coordinating inbound and outbound shipments, monitoring inventory accuracy, resolving delivery exceptions, and ensuring our 3PL providers meet service level and cost expectations across the USA, Canada, and Mexico. The role also provides backoffice order support and day-to-day service to Fersa Group subsidiaries.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, detail-heavy environment, communicates clearly with warehouse partners and carriers, and takes ownership of shipments from order release through final delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact with 3PL warehouse partners for daily shipping, receiving, and inventory activity.
- Coordinate inbound container and truckload deliveries into 3PL facilities, ensuring appointments, documentation, and putaway are tracked to completion.
- Release and monitor outbound customer orders through the 3PL, confirming on-time pick, pack, and ship against customer requested dates.
- Track and resolve shipment exceptions — delays, shortages, damages, mis-picks — working directly with the 3PL and freight carriers to correct issues quickly.
- Reconcile 3PL inventory reports against internal ERP records; investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Monitor 3PL performance against agreed KPIs (on-time shipping, order accuracy, dock-to-stock time, damage rates) and report trends to management.
- Review and validate 3PL invoices for accuracy against contracted rates prior to approval for payment.
- Coordinate freight arrangements (LTL, FTL, small parcel) and support carrier selection for cost and service optimization.
- Maintain accurate shipping records, bills of lading, packing lists, and customs/export documentation as needed for cross-border shipments (Canada, Mexico).
- Coordinate intercompany shipments to affiliated Fersa Group entities, with a primary focus on supplying Fersa Mexico (PMEX); manage stock transfer documentation, cross-border customs paperwork, and delivery timing to keep PMEX inventory needs on schedule.
- Act as the logistics point of contact between FUSA and PMEX for intercompany order fulfillment, tracking shipment status and resolving delays or documentation issues that could impact PMEX supply.
- Provide backoffice order support for subsidiaries (including PMEX), including order entry, order confirmation, and follow-up in the ERP system to keep intercompany orders moving smoothly.
- Serve as a responsive point of service for subsidiary requests related to order status, documentation, and shipment inquiries, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution.
- Support new customer or program onboarding by setting up shipping requirements and routing guides with the 3PL.
- Communicate proactively with internal Sales, Customer Service, and Purchasing teams on shipment status, delays, and inventory availability.
- Identify process improvement opportunities to reduce cost, improve fill rate, and streamline 3PL workflows.
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field preferred.
Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in logistics coordination, warehouse operations, transportation, or supply chain support, ideally working directly with a 3PL provider.
- Experience with ERP/WMS systems (e.g., Dynamics 365, SAP, or similar) strongly preferred.
- Experience with cross-border (Canada/Mexico) shipping documentation is a plus.
- Experience coordinating intercompany or affiliate shipments within a multi-entity/multinational organization is a plus.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and follow-through.
- Comfortable managing multiple shipments and priorities simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.
- Clear, professional written and verbal communication with internal teams and external partners.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel; comfort learning ERP/WMS and carrier tracking systems.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to work independently and escalate issues appropriately.
- Basic understanding of freight modes (LTL, FTL, parcel) and shipping documentation.
