Full Job Description

Smoker Craft, Inc currently has an opening for Purchasing Assistant! This position works from our office in New Paris, IN. This is NOT a remote position.

We are looking for an organized and dependable Purchasing Assistant to provide clerical and administrative support to our procurement team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working with data and documents, and eager to learn the fundamentals of purchasing in a manufacturing environment. Most of the day-to-day work will be office-based and administrative in nature, with some involvement in routine buying tasks as experience grows.

Job Duties:

Assist with filing, scanning, copying, and document management.
Match purchase orders to invoices and packing slips; flag and help resolve discrepancies.
Maintain purchasing records-both digital and physical.
Review and evaluate service orders to determine the most appropriate fulfilment method.
Track open service orders to ensure timely resolution.
Enter and update purchase orders as needed.

Requirements:

Working knowledge of PC functions and Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, Outlook.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, works independently, displays initiative and solves problems with proficiency.
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

Schedule:

Monday-Friday

6:30 AM – 3:00 PM, includes a 30-minute unpaid lunch

(Start time may be flexible, with a 7:00 AM start option)
