About the Role:
We are seeking motivated individuals to be key players in scaling up US Drone Manufacturing. This role is full time in office at our headquarters in El Segundo/Culver City. This role focuses primarily on the full assembly of our flagship product the F-11 drone. As a drone assembly technician, you must have strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and thrive in chaos and a fast paced environment where things will change on a daily basis.
The ideal candidate has previous experience with building drones, whether FPV or larger scale quad copters. You are excited about AI-powered drones and curious to learn on-the-job. This role requires you to be highly self motivated and understand the importance of the sub-level tasks in the grand scheme of the overall drone assembly. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Responsibilities:
- Report directly to the Manufacturing Operations Manager and, in the future, work alongside other technicians to deliver
- Solder cables onto printed circuit boards according to specifications.
- Perform cable assembly through soldering and crimping techniques.
- Manufacturing operations including hardware sub-assembly, electronics flashing, troubleshooting, and repair as needed.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Record all works adhering to the online production MES system for daily traceability.
- Ability to work on the line, provide training, and support new operator training as required.
- Understand at a fundamental level why you are doing what you are doing.
- Collaborate with other team members to meet production deadlines and quality standards.
- Come into the office every day in a timely manner with a positive mentality and sense of responsibility
Core Requirements:
- 2+ years in production-oriented manufacturing or electro-mechanical assembly
- Strong communication and leadership skills while being willing and able to accept correction and feedback
- Experience in soldering and cable assembly, with a focus on wire-to-board soldering
- Proficiency in using soldering irons, wire strippers, crimping tools, and other assembly equipment.
- Curiosity and willingness to learn on the job.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, such as wiring diagrams and assembly instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (engineering, business, or applied science)
- 5+ years in a lead or production operations role.
- IPC-A-610 and IPC J-STD-001 Certification.
- Prior hands-on experience with drones and larger quad copters.
- Lean six sigma green belt certified.
- Experience with CAD, drone design, 3d printing.
- Passionate about US manufacturing.
- Experience in mechanical assembly preferred, whether through design projects or university clubs.
