Maintenance Tech - Two Openings:

1st Shift Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor

2nd Shift Entry level Maintenance Mechanic

An international food company is seeking a qualified Maintenance Mechanic who has tech certificate background or equivalent.

Location: Somerset, New Jersey

Direct Hire/ Non-Exempt

SHIFT HOURS:

Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor:

Working hours:

Mon, Wed, Thru, Fri, and Sat 6am to 3pm (Days off Tuesday and Sunday)
OT Required when needed
During probation Mon to Friday 8-5pm if possible

Pay rate: up to $25-27, depends on experience + Annual Bonus

Entry Maintenance Mechanic (2 openings)

Working hours:

1st Opening schedule: Mon, Wed, Thru, Fri, and Sat 2:00pm~11:00pm (Days off Tuesday and Sunday)
2nd Opening schedule: Mon, Tue, Thru, Fri, and Sat 2:00pm~11:00pm (Days off Wednesday and Sunday)
OT is required as needed
During probation Mon to Friday 8-5pm if possible.

Pay rate: Starting at $21-$23 + Annual Bonus

Job Description for Maintenance Supervisor (scroll down for entry level description):

Follow safety protocols and ensure maintenance work adheres to safety standards
Perform preventive maintenance to ensure machinery operates efficiently
Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise, review, and participate in technical staff work
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and inspect plant equipment, facility systems, building infrastructure, and utilities to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Create, review, and comply with work orders for the maintenance, repair, modification, and installation of plant equipment, facility systems, utilities, and infrastructure.
Provide guidance on and perform overhauls of general-purpose equipment such as motors and pumps.
Provide guidance on and perform overhauls of production equipment.
Propose and implement measures to improve production performance.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following procedures and regulations
Collaborate effectively with team members
Manage procurement and inventory control of maintenance parts
Develop and maintain relationships with external service providers and suppliers
Wear appropriate PPE for safety and food manufacturing environments
Train and develop junior staff
Perform and plan maintenance of factory facilities, including production equipment, building systems, structures, fire protection systems, and IT infrastructure
Accurately document and maintain detailed maintenance history records
Monitor, record, and utilize equipment data
Develop and implement mid- to long-term maintenance and improvement plans
Plan and coordinate both external contractor work and internal schedules, and manage procurement and contractor oversight, including processing payments when necessary.
Support parts procurement (maintain optimal inventory levels, select appropriate parts, and identify cost reduction opportunities)
Share information and provide reports within and across departments
Coordinate across departments to maximize plant efficiency
Lead team management to maximize team performance
Achieve management targets
Participating in committees

Requirements

High school diploma required; technical school education preferred
Minimum 3 years of experience as a manufacturing mechanic required
Physical strength and dexterity to lift, move, and handle up to 50 lbs.
Ability to read, comprehend and practice necessary safety procedures, signs, etc. Ability to wear and use approved, applicable safety equipment

Required Skills

Strong problem-solving and multitasking abilities
Excellent communication, logical thinking, and attention to detail
Ability to read electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical schematics
Experience with replacing inverters, sensors, controllers, motors, belts, bearings, pulleys, sprockets, chains, cylinders, etc.
Proficiency in plumbing, wiring, welding, and drilling
Familiarity with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
Ability to overhaul general-purpose equipment such as motors and pumps
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and perform overhauls of production equipment
Ability to troubleshoot production equipment
Ability to define project requirements with external contractors, obtain quotations, coordinate internal work schedules, supervise contractor activities, and evaluate the quality of completed work
Ability to identify, propose, and implement improvements to production performance and efficiency

Entry Level Maintenance Mechanic

Description

Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments.

Participates in required training for the development of skills and knowledge

Wear appropriate PPE for safety and food manufacturing environments

Manage and organize spare parts inventory, report shortages
Participating in committees
