Resolute Documentation Services is seeking experienced Legal Hearing Transcription Specialists to join our growing team of independent contractors. This is an excellent opportunity for professional legal transcribers who have extensive hearing transcription experience and are skilled at producing accurate, court-ready transcripts.
In this role, you will transcribe legal hearings and other proceedings from audio and video recordings while editing and finalizing AI-generated transcripts. You will work exclusively within our secure transcription platform using our proprietary tools.
Responsibilities
- Transcribe legal hearings and other proceedings from audio and video recordings.
- Edit, proofread, and finalize AI-generated transcripts.
- Produce accurate, professionally formatted legal transcripts that meet court and client specifications.
- Prepare appearance pages, indexes, exhibit lists, and other transcript components.
- Ensure transcripts are complete, grammatically correct, and delivered on time.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to all security requirements.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of recent experience transcribing legal hearings.
- Strong knowledge of legal terminology, court proceedings, and transcript formatting standards.
- Exceptional English grammar, spelling, punctuation, and proofreading skills.
- Excellent listening skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining exceptional accuracy.
- Reliable high-speed internet and a professional remote work environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates with an active Federal clearance, including:
- Federal Public Trust (Tier 1–5)
- Confidential
- Secret
- Top Secret
Experience editing and quality-checking AI-generated transcripts is highly preferred.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be domiciled in the United States or its territories.
- Be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Successfully pass a comprehensive criminal background investigation.
- Be willing and eligible to obtain a Federal security clearance if required.
Applicants seeking a Federal clearance should have a history demonstrating honesty, reliability, sound judgment, responsible financial conduct, and no disqualifying criminal convictions.
Technical Requirements
To successfully perform this role, contractors must meet the following technical requirements:
- Work will be completed using Resolute Documentation Services' proprietary transcription platform.
- Satellite internet services are not supported and do not provide the reliable performance required for our platform. A stable, high-speed broadband internet connection (cable, fiber, or DSL) is required. The ability to hard-wire your computer to your router is a plus.
- Contractors must provide and use their own USB or compatible transcription foot pedal.
