Full Job Description

Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to join our firm. In this vital role, you will manage the day-to-day financial record-keeping processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. Your expertise will support our organization’s financial health by maintaining precise records, reconciling accounts, and assisting with financial reporting. Duties

Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage, or similar systems
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions efficiently and accurately
Prepare and record journal entries, including debits & credits, to ensure proper ledger updates
Conduct bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliation to verify account balances
Support budgeting activities by tracking expenses and preparing financial reports
Ensure adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other accounting standards in all financial activities

Skills

Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role with familiarity in bookkeeping procedures
Strong proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage, or other financial systems
Excellent knowledge of double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, account reconciliation, and balance sheet reconciliation
Experience with payroll processing and tax experience is highly desirable
Skilled in spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets) for data analysis and report writing
Understanding of GAAP and technical accounting concepts for accurate financial reporting
Ability to perform 10 key typing with high accuracy for data entry tasks
