Full Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Fitness Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be instrumental in providing expert fitness guidance, creating personalized workout plans, and promoting a culture of health and wellness. Your passion for fitness and dedication to helping others will drive our members to achieve their personal fitness goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Personalized Coaching: Conduct fitness assessments and create customized workout programs tailored to individual member's needs and fitness goals.
Instruction and Supervision: Lead one-on-one training sessions as well as small group classes, ensuring techniques are performed safely and effectively.
Member Engagement: Actively engage with members on the gym floor, offering tips, demonstrating proper use of equipment, and providing motivational support.
Program Development: Continuously develop and innovate fitness programs to keep workouts fresh, challenging, and enjoyable.
Health and Wellness Education: Educate members on various aspects of fitness and wellness, including exercise, nutrition, and healthy lifestyle habits.
Fitness Assessments: Regularly assess members’ progress and adjust fitness plans accordingly to ensure continued advancement and satisfaction.
Facility Maintenance: Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming gym environment.
Community Building: Participate in and help organize fitness challenges, workshops, and other events to build a strong, supportive fitness community.

Qualifications / Requirements:

A degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related field is preferred.
Certification from a recognized fitness organization (e.g., ACSM, NASM, NSCA).
CPR and First Aid certification.
Experience in personal training and fitness program design.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A deep understanding of fitness principles and a commitment to staying informed about the latest trends and scientific advancements in fitness and health.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift 50 pounds.
Excellent customer service skills and strong work ethic.
Energetic, enthusiastic and motivational.
Strong team player.

Miscellaneous / ETC:

Proficient in appropriate computer skills and office equipment.
Normal work hours: Varied to include early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
