Full Job Description

The faculty member is responsible for ensuring the academic and personal development of the students through clinical instruction. Working in the practice setting, the faculty member prepares and mentors future students. Faculty members are responsible for ensuring that the curriculum is up-to-date, that effective delivery methods are employed, and that all students are treated in a fair and equitable manner.
Position: Faculty
Essential Functions:

Providing clinical instruction at long-term care, sub-acute, and acute clinical sites
Creating a clinical environment that fosters students’ academic growth and guides their professional development.
Preparing student clinical evaluations
Evaluating student competence based on clinical objectives
Implementing evaluation devices of student learning and clinical experience to measure progress and competency
Creating a clinical environment that fosters students’ academic growth and guides their professional development
Participating in academic advising and guidance of students
Attending faculty meetings
Participating in committees and school events

Skills & Abilities:

Excellent communication and presentation skills
Ability to address student needs and resolve issues with diplomacy and tact
Ability to maintain and report on student information
Interpersonal skills including questioning, listening and showing concern
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Possess a high degree of integrity
Commitment to the success of the students and the institution
An outgoing, approachable style and a passion for helping students succeed
Exceptional teamwork skills
Computer literacy skills including working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Minimum Qualifications:

BSN required; MSN preferred
Current State or Multistate RN license required
Minimum of 3 years recent experience as a Registered Nurse
Prior teaching experience is preferred but not required
