Full Job Description

In support of our client, a professional services company, we are searching for a contract Mechanical Designer with Creo & 3D software experience to join their team. This is contract position with an expected duration of 3-4 months and can be done in a hybrid setting.

Job Requirements:

Selected candidate will provide 3D CAD support for engineers in design studies.
Select candidate should have experience with heavy industry, machine layout, MEP, plants, etc is a plus. Candidate completes drawing responsibility tasks within scope, budget and schedule and provides design assistance to other designers and engineers.
Utilize Creo and Inventor 3D by creating 3D models from 2D drawings or field reverse design.
Ability to read assembly/detail drawings from customer/vendor supplied projects. Selected candidate will be working daily with engineers on specific request involving either 2D or 3D drawings created and assessment for explanation.
Disciplined with design-approach, calculation packages, analyses, reports, QC checking; able to recognize and mitigate design, safety, fabrication, and schedule risks, etc.
Talented in conceiving and creating custom design one-off solutions.
Working knowledge of machine components (bearings, couplings, gears, actuators, motors, chains, sprockets, shafts, springs, dampers) and hardware, fasteners, joining, welding, materials, pneumatics & hydraulics, mechanical fabrication & machining processes, and finite-element stress analysis.

Required Skills:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in the design of machines or mechanisms
3D CAD Requirements- Minimum 5 years’ experience with Creo and Inventor 3D modeling software.
2D CAD Requirements- Minimum 5 years’ experience with AutoCAD Mechanical 2D
A team player with good interpersonal and communication skills, including both written and verbal communications.
