At Alpha, students complete their academic work in only two hours each day through adaptive learning technology. This structure allows Guides to dedicate their energy to what transforms lives: cultivating confidence, resilience, communication skills, and the drive to take on difficult challenges. You will not be standing at the front of a room delivering lessons. Instead, your day will be spent guiding students through obstacles, acknowledging their progress, and demonstrating what rigorous standards look like when combined with authentic belief.
You will oversee a single K-3 cohort band—either Kindergarten-1st grade or 2nd-3rd grade. Half of your time is devoted to facilitating dynamic, one-hour workshops focused on essential life skills such as public speaking, concentration, and giving feedback. The remaining time is spent providing individualized and small-group coaching, leveraging learning analytics to ensure each child advances toward ambitious weekly targets. Every moment counts. Students should emerge from your workshops more skilled than when they entered and leave your coaching sessions with expanded belief in their own potential.
This position is not suited for someone seeking to deliver prepared curriculum or simply manage a classroom. What you will be doing
- Facilitate dynamic life-skills workshops that support K-3 students in mastering communication, focus, feedback, and other foundational skills through active engagement rather than passive instruction.
- Provide one-on-one and small-group coaching, utilizing Coachbot analytics, established motivation frameworks, and strong relational connections to ensure every child progresses toward ambitious weekly learning targets.
- Evaluate life-skill mastery using Alpha's Test2Pass framework, continuing to coach students until they show genuine understanding—not merely attendance.
- Tailor your coaching approach to match the developmental stage of your cohort, whether that involves songs, movement, and narratives for younger children or increased independence and responsibility for older students.
- Cultivate relationships in which students feel sufficiently supported to push past what they previously believed they could accomplish.
What you will NOT be doing
- Presenting academic lessons from a whiteboard. Students complete their academics using adaptive software.
- Creating curriculum from the ground up. You will refine and customize proven instructional playbooks rather than designing lessons from scratch.
- Supervising students as they work quietly on computers. Your responsibility is active coaching, encouragement, and relationship-building.
- Reducing expectations when students face difficulty. Progress is achieved by supporting students to meet the standard, not by lowering the standard.
- Administering homework, grading assignments, or managing routine parent correspondence.

- Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
- At least 3 years of direct experience working with children ages 4-9 in teaching, coaching, tutoring, camps, youth programs, or comparable settings.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate young children toward challenging objectives, with concrete examples of your influence.
- Comfort leveraging AI-powered learning tools while concentrating your own efforts on coaching, motivation, and life-skill cultivation.
- The capacity to combine warmth with consistent, high expectations.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship.
Nice to have
- Background in youth athletics, children's theater, camp leadership, Montessori education, progressive schooling models, or high-engagement after-school programs.
- Personal history of accomplishing ambitious goals in academic, athletic, or professional contexts.
- Exceptional storytelling or performance abilities that naturally engage the attention of young children.
- Track record of helping hesitant or reserved children develop into confident, active participants.
