HPS Tech is an Australian business delivering end-to-end process engineering for dairy and food manufacturers globally - designing, delivering and commissioning the systems behind some of the most technically complex facilities in the sector. Their technology is proprietary. Their projects are theirs from concept to handover. They stand behind their work and alongside the customers who depend on it.

Their US operation is scaling, and this role sits at the centre of it. We are looking for an experienced Senior Process Engineer who takes personal ownership from approved scope to customer handover - and doesn't consider the job done until the customer is satisfied. Based in Central Valley, California.

If you have deep process engineering experience - dairy, food, or a comparably demanding environment - and know what personal accountability for a project outcome feels like, read on.

The role

You will take full ownership of complex, high-value projects end-to-end - covering design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and the customer relationship.

This is not a role where someone else defines the scope and you execute within it. You lead. Graduate engineers support you. Leadership backs you.

What you will do

Lead project delivery across design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.
Manage the customer relationship throughout each project - you are the face of HPS on the job.
Direct and develop graduate engineers working alongside you.
Apply technical judgement to solve problems in the field - you will not wait for permission.
Build the kind of customer relationships that bring the next project through the door.

Your background

Dairy processing is the foundation we are building from. If that is your background, this role is for you. We will also consider engineers from industries where process hygiene, CIP design, and food safety standards are genuinely non-negotiable - brewery, pharmaceutical, or food manufacturing environments where the consequences of getting it wrong are serious. The technical standards in dairy are exacting; if you have worked somewhere comparably demanding, make that case.

Process engineering background - mechanical, chemical, or electrical. What matters is technical depth and field experience, not the title on your degree.
A track record of owning complex, high value projects end-to-end. Not contributing within someone else's structure - leading, with personal accountability for the outcome.
Comfort in direct customer-facing situations. Plant operators, site engineers, and farming business owners are your audience. Relationship quality is part of the job.
Right to work in the United States.

We are open on experience level - from engineers with five or six years of solid project work to those with fifteen or more in the sector. The non-negotiable is the technical foundation and the project accountability. If you have both, the experience question takes care of itself.

They operate across Australia, New Zealand, the United States, and Europe. The US is their primary growth market.
