Full Job Description

Development Engineer – Land Development

Lindale, Texas
$100,000–$120,000 DOE

Build Communities, Not Billable Hours.

We are a well-capitalized private real estate development company with a long history of successful residential and commercial development. As we expand into East Texas, we're establishing a permanent office to support our growing development activity throughout Smith County and the surrounding region. The family ownership group has already established themselves with a large personal ranch in the area.

This is not a consulting position.

Instead of designing projects for dozens of clients, you'll work exclusively for the owner and developer—helping transform raw land into thriving communities and commercial developments. We already own and manage single family rentals in the East Texas region.

We're looking for an experienced Civil Engineer/Development Engineer who wants to take ownership of projects from concept through construction while helping establish and grow our East Texas engineering operation.

As we expand into East Texas, we're seeking an engineer who wants to be part of building something significant from the ground up.

What You'll Do

Review civil engineering plans for residential and commercial developments
Seek out additional opportunities for capital allocation
Manage outside engineering consultants and specialty design firms
Lead entitlement, permitting, and municipal approval efforts
Coordinate with surveyors, geotechnical engineers, utility providers, and contractors
Oversee grading, drainage, paving, utility, and storm-water design
Participate in land acquisition due diligence and feasibility studies
Review construction documents and assist during construction
Develop strong working relationships with local municipalities and regulatory agencies
Help establish and grow our East Texas engineering office

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
Texas PE license or ability to obtain Texas license
Five or more years of land development experience
Proficiency with Civil 3D
Strong knowledge of grading, drainage, utilities, and site development
Experience working with municipalities and permitting agencies
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to work independently while collaborating with a development team
