Job Overview

Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Patient Care Technician (PCT) / Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), where you will play a vital role in delivering compassionate, high-quality patient care across diverse clinical settings. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work closely with multidisciplinary teams, providing essential support to patients of all ages and medical conditions. You will be responsible for assisting with daily patient needs, ensuring safety, and maintaining accurate medical documentation—all while fostering a positive and healing environment. Your dedication will directly impact patient recovery, comfort, and overall well-being.

Duties

Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility using safe lifting practices and equipment such as Hoyer lifts.
Monitor vital signs—such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature—and document findings accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper handling and adherence to HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality.
Perform basic clinical procedures including catheter care, phlebotomy (blood draws), and aseptic techniques for infection control.
Facilitate patient transfers using appropriate transfer methods and equipment; assist with patient positioning for comfort and medical procedures.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to provide updates on patient status and address concerns promptly.
Maintain a clean, safe environment by adhering to infection control protocols, handling infectious disease precautions, and supporting hospital or long-term care facility standards such as those in ICU or trauma centers.

Experience

Prior experience working in medical-surgical units, emergency medicine, ICU, or trauma centers is highly desirable.
Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner for accurate medical documentation.
Experience caring for geriatric patients in nursing homes or assisted living facilities is preferred. Hospice experience is preferred.
Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology to support effective patient care delivery.
Hands-on experience with specialized care such as dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, behavioral health support or hospice is advantageous.
Certification as a CNA or equivalent credential is required; additional certifications such as CPR/BLS are highly valued.
Familiarity with pediatric or neonatal care (PICU experience), post-acute care settings, or home & community care environments enhances your candidacy.
