Hammond Law Firm, PLLC is a growing law firm in Tyler, Texas, dedicated to providing exceptional legal services in real estate, probate, estate planning, and business law. We pride ourselves on professionalism, organization, and creating a welcoming environment for our clients. We are looking for a dependable, detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Legal Assistant/Receptionist.

Position Summary:

The Legal Assistant/Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for our clients while providing administrative and legal support to our attorneys and staff. The ideal candidate is organized, personable, able to multitask, and thrives in a fast-paced office environment.

Responsibilities:

Greet clients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner
Answer and direct incoming phone calls
Schedule appointments and maintain attorney calendars
Open and close client files
Draft correspondence, legal documents, and forms
Scan, copy, file, and organize legal documents
Communicate with clients, title companies, courts, lenders, and other professionals
Maintain both physical and electronic filing systems
Process incoming and outgoing mail
Assist with real estate closings, probate matters, business formations, and estate planning documents
Prepare client packets and closing documents
Collect payments and assist with billing when needed
Keep the reception area and conference rooms organized and presentable
Perform other administrative and legal support duties as assigned

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required
Associate's degree or paralegal certificate preferred, but not required
Previous law office, title company, or administrative experience preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
Professional appearance and positive attitude
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information

Preferred Skills:

Experience with legal document preparation
Knowledge of real estate transactions, probate, or estate planning
Experience with legal case management software
Customer service experience
MUST BE BILINGUAL
