Full Job Description

KAPLAN Industrial is the leading contract chemical blender and formulator, bottling & labeling manufacturer in the U.S. As a provider of customized supply chain solutions, the company serves customers in many business-to-business market segments including automotive, cleaning supplies, CPG, and 3PL Services.

BLENDING/FORMULATION/BOTTLING PRIVATE LABEL INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Position Summary

We are seeking a driven Outside Sales Representative to grow Kaplan’s presence in the car wash (tunnels & self-serve bays), pressure washing, truck & trailer, and complementary industrial cleaning markets. The ideal candidate will identify new business, expand existing accounts, develop distributor relationships, and convert opportunities across chemical, formulation, and private-label solutions. Industry experience and an existing book of business are strong pluses.

Key Responsibilities

Prospect, qualify, and close new accounts in car wash tunnels, self-serve bays, pressure washing contractors, truck washes, fleet operators, and related markets.
Develop and manage a territory pipeline focused on chemical solutions for vehicle washing, detailing, fleet maintenance, and industrial cleaning.
Identify, recruit, onboard, and support distributors to expand market coverage and sales reach.
Build and manage productive distributor relationships, including training, joint sales calls, and performance tracking.
Present Kaplan’s product portfolio, custom formulation capabilities, private-label programs, and value-added services to decision-makers and distribution partners.
Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, operators, distributors, and key accounts.
Conduct site visits, product demonstrations, and follow-up to convert opportunities into long-term business.
Collaborate with internal teams (formulation, production, customer service) to deliver tailored solutions and ensure customer satisfaction.
Maintain accurate CRM records, forecasts, and activity reports.
Identify cross-selling and complementary product opportunities (including marine care and other industrial applications where relevant).
Represent Kaplan at industry trade shows, association events, and networking opportunities as needed.

Qualifications

Proven B2B sales experience, preferably in industrial chemicals, cleaning products, or related supplies.
Demonstrated experience selling to and building or expanding a distributor network.
Strong consultative selling skills with the ability to understand customer and distributor operations and recommend solutions.
Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building abilities.
Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working independently in a territory-based role.
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the assigned territory.
Proficiency with CRM systems and basic Microsoft Office tools.

Preferred Qualifications

Direct experience selling into car wash tunnels, self-serve bays, pressure washing, or truck/trailer wash markets.
Existing book of business or established relationships in the car wash, fleet, industrial cleaning, or distribution channels.
Proven success in recruiting, training, and growing distributor partners.
Knowledge of chemical products, formulation concepts, or private-label programs.
Experience with multi-location or chain accounts.
