CAMISA Physical Therapy & Sports Rehab is seeking a motivated and professional Clinical Assistant to join our growing team in a dynamic, patient-focused environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in physical therapy, movement science, or sports performance to gain valuable experience supporting a cutting-edge rehab team.

We treat a wide range of orthopedic conditions — including post-surgical recovery, joint injuries, muscle imbalances, sports injuries, chronic pain, and more. Our clinicians are known for helping patients who have failed treatment elsewhere, combining clinical precision with personalized, movement-based care to restore performance and resilience.

We specialize in advanced approaches such as the McGill Method, Frequency Specific Microcurrent, and other innovative techniques aimed at optimizing movement, reducing pain, and improving long-term function.

Clinical Director Dr. Joe Camisa is one of only two physical therapists in the world to hold the title of McGill Master Clinician, a distinction awarded to just 17 experts globally. This role offers a rare opportunity to learn directly from a clinician with elite-level expertise across a broad spectrum of orthopedic diagnoses. We’re looking for a candidate who values the power of movement and is eager to learn in a mentorship-driven environment. As a Clinical Assistant, you’ll closely observe expert clinicians and support patients through carefully customized exercise sessions — all under the direct supervision of licensed physical therapists.

You’ll also gain exposure to advanced techniques used by our providers, including:

Dry needling
Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM)
Myofascial decompression (cupping)
Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM)
Other advanced myofascial and neuromuscular techniques

In addition, our clinic incorporates integrative wellness services such as:

Infrared sauna therapy
Red light therapy
Biocharger sessions
Collaborative care with licensed acupuncturists and other holistic practitioners

We operate in a highly collaborative team environment, blending physical therapy with acupuncture, performance training, and wellness care. Many of our patients are occupational athletes such as firefighters and police officers, as well as competitive athletes and fitness enthusiasts working toward full recovery and return to peak performance. This position offers exposure to sport-specific and physically demanding rehabilitation strategies, allowing you to assist in the transition from injury recovery to high-level training and activity.

Responsibilities:

Assist physical therapists by setting up and supporting patients during pre-assigned exercises, offering reminders based on prior instruction by the licensed physical therapist and ensuring a safe, organized environment.
Support patients through carefully customized exercise sessions — all under the direct supervision of licensed physical therapists.
Prepare and maintain clinical spaces and equipment to ensure a clean, organized environment.
Support daily operations and patient flow by following directions from clinical staff.
Assist with administrative responsibilities when necessary.
Maintain a professional, welcoming atmosphere for patients.
Participate in ongoing staff training and development activities.
Optional for qualified individuals: Support clients through fitness-based programming as part of our CAMISA Cross-Bridge Program, designed to transition discharged patients into structured strength and performance coaching (non-clinical).

Qualifications:

Passion for movement, human performance, and helping others.
Strong interest in physical therapy, rehabilitation, or sports science.
Knowledge of basic exercises and gym equipment preferred.
Excellent listening skills and ability to follow detailed instructions.
Reliable, organized, and eager to learn in a fast-paced clinical setting.
Background in Exercise Science, Athletic Training, Physical Therapy, or a related field is preferred (students welcome).
Flexible availability for part-time hours, with room for growth.
Knowledge of EMR and/or willingness to learn.
