Land of Lincoln Legal Aid seeks a Part-Time Criminal Records Clerk for its Eastern Regional Office (ERO)
located in Champaign, Illinois. Land of Lincoln provides free civil legal services to low-income individuals in 65 counties in
Illinois. We are committed to providing justice for those whose voices might otherwise not be heard; to empower
individuals to advocate for themselves; and to make positive changes in the communities we serve.

The Part-Time Criminal Records Clerk will work approximately 15 hours per week to support Land of Lincoln’s criminal
records relief work. Each year, thousands of Illinois residents face barriers to employment, housing, education, and
stability due to past involvement in the criminal legal system—even after completing their sentence or having charges
dismissed. Criminal records relief provides a second chance by removing these barriers and opening doors to opportunity.

The ERO conducts several criminal records relief summits and clinics each year. The Part-Time Criminal Records Clerk will
play an important role in preparing for and supporting these events, including reviewing information to help determine
participants’ eligibility for available criminal records relief under the supervision of a staff attorney.

Responsibilities include:

Assist with criminal records relief cases and related casework under the supervision of a staff attorney;

Assist with preparation for and participation in criminal records relief summits and clinics;

Support outreach efforts to raise awareness of criminal records relief and available legal services;

Prepare documents and complete administrative tasks related to criminal records relief work; and

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Experience working in a legal services environment preferred;

Ability to work collaboratively with other staff and perform assigned duties with minimal supervision in a fast-

paced environment;

Highly organized, excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong problem-solving skills, proficiency with technology, including Microsoft Office, SharePoint, court software;

Commitment to social justice and demonstrated ability to build relationships and work effectively with people of

diverse social, economic, and racial/ethnic backgrounds.

Compensation:
$15 per hour. Land of Lincoln Legal Aid is a 501(c)3 and an eligible employer for the federal public service loan forgiveness
program.
