Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Landscape Design, Bidding, and Estimating Quality Control Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will oversee the entire landscape project estimation process, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and quality control from initial design concepts through bid submission. Your expertise will help deliver exceptional landscape solutions for commercial projects by managing project budgets, reviewing technical drawings, and coordinating with clients and contractors. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative landscape designs while maintaining rigorous standards for cost management and project efficiency.

Responsibilities

Review and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications related to landscape projects to ensure precise understanding of scope and requirements.
Develop detailed estimates for landscape design projects, including material costs, labor, equipment, and subcontractor bids using estimating software.
Manage the bidding process by soliciting competitive quotes from suppliers and subcontractors, negotiating terms to optimize project value while maintaining quality standards.
Conduct thorough cost analysis and control throughout the project lifecycle to stay within budget constraints; utilize spreadsheets and construction management software for tracking.
Perform quality control checks on all estimates to ensure accuracy in pricing, material requirements, and compliance with client specifications.
Collaborate closely with project managers, clients, designers, and contractors to communicate bid strategies, clarify scope details, and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
Review construction plans regularly to identify potential cost-saving opportunities or risks; ensure estimates align with current market conditions and material costs.
Maintain comprehensive records of all bidding activities, estimate revisions, client communications, and contract documentation for transparency and future reference.

Qualifications

Proven experience managing projects as a construction estimator within the landscape or broader construction industry.
Strong proficiency in estimating software; experience with Aspire.
Excellent skills in blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings, and analyzing construction documents related to commercial landscapes.
Demonstrated ability in negotiation with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients to secure favorable terms while maintaining quality standards.
Familiarity with construction management software tools like Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) for data analysis and reporting.
Knowledge of cost management principles including material cost estimating, pricing strategies, and budget estimation for large-scale projects.
Solid understanding of contracts, project management practices, and construction site experience to inform accurate estimations.
Effective communication skills for client interactions and team collaboration; ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously under tight deadlines.
Construction industry experience focusing on commercial landscapes is preferred; familiarity with Xactimate or similar estimating platforms is a plus.
