Full Job Description

We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Tax Manager to join our dynamic Tax Services team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing tax returns, handling agency correspondence, and developing tax planning projections for our diverse client base. This role requires an understanding of tax laws, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.

Key Responsibilities:

Tax Preparation:

Prepare federal, state, and local income tax returns for individuals, businesses, and other entities.
Review financial records, such as income statements and documentation of expenditures.
Ensure compliance with government regulations and timely filing of tax returns.

Agency Correspondence:

Communicate with tax agencies on behalf of clients regarding tax issues, notices, and audits.
Respond to client inquiries and provide updates on the status of their tax matters.
Resolve tax-related issues and provide support during audits.

Tax Planning and Projections:

Develop tax planning strategies to optimize tax liabilities for clients.
Prepare detailed tax projections based on current and anticipated financial situations.
Advise clients on the tax implications of their financial plans and transactions.

Qualifications:

Education and Certification:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field required.
CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in tax preparation and planning.
Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
Experience with tax software (e.g., ProSeries, Lacerte, UltraTax) and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Skills:
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Client-focused with strong interpersonal skills.
