Sous Chef – Authentic Italian Restaurant

Mastra Italian Bakery & Bistro | American Fork, Utah

Build Something Exceptional

Mastra Italian Bakery & Bistro is looking for an experienced Sous Chef.

We're opening our new flagship location and are looking for a leader who wants to help build one of Utah's premier authentic Italian restaurants.

Everything we make starts from scratch. We bake our own bread, make fresh pasta, prepare authentic sauces, and aim to the highest standards of quality and hospitality.

If you are passionate about leading people, creating and systems, and delivering exceptional food every day, we'd love to meet you.

What You'll Do

Lead the kitchen during service in absence of the executive chef with confidence and professionalism.
Train, coach, and develop cooks.
Maintain high food quality and consistency.
Ensure sanitation and food safety standards are met.
Help control food cost, labor cost, and waste.
Assist with ordering, inventory, and scheduling.
Work directly with the executive chef to improve systems and operations.
Help prepare the team for the opening of our new flagship restaurant.

What We're Looking For

5+ years of kitchen experience.
Previous Sous Chef or Kitchen Manager experience.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Experience in high-volume scratch kitchens.
Ability to stay calm under pressure.
High standards of cleanliness and organization.
Positive attitude with a willingness to teach and learn.
Italian cuisine experience is a plus.

Compensation

$60,000–$80,000 annually, depending on experience.
