Full Job Description

Overview
Join our vibrant team as a Youth Recreation Aid and play a vital role in creating engaging, safe, and enriching activities for children and adolescents. In this energetic position, you will support the development of positive social skills, foster creativity, and promote healthy physical activity through a variety of recreational programs. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help cultivate a welcoming environment where young participants can thrive, learn, and have fun. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on youth development while gaining valuable experience in recreation and education.

Work hours:

Tuesday - Friday: 3:0 - 8 pm ( 20 hours a week)

Duties

Assist in planning and implementing age-appropriate recreational activities, including sports, arts and crafts, theater, and outdoor games.
Supervise children during activities to ensure safety and proper behavior management.
Support classroom management strategies to foster a positive learning environment for children with diverse needs.
Provide first aid when necessary and respond promptly to any emergencies or incidents.
Collaborate with staff to adapt activities for children with special education needs or behavioral challenges.
Engage children in tutoring or educational games that promote childhood development and early childhood education principles.
Maintain clean, organized activity spaces and ensure all equipment is safe and functional.
Set up and break down and clean all used space (Floors, Community room, toys and bathroom used)

Qualifications

Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp, babysitting, or tutoring is highly desirable.
Knowledge of classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies.
Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred but not required; training can be provided.
Familiarity with special education practices and childhood development concepts.
Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members.
Ability to work outdoors or indoors for extended periods while maintaining high energy levels.
Passion for working with youth and promoting positive recreational experiences in a safe environment.
