Job Title: Robotics Test, Qualification & RMA Technician

Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Robotics Test, Qualification & RMA Technician to perform final test, calibration, burn-in, repeatability verification, troubleshooting, and shipment-release documentation for precision wafer-handling robots used in semiconductor automation. This role is responsible for loading controlled firmware and motor files, calibrating robot axes, verifying sensors, vacuum, I/O, and motion performance, running approved test routines, documenting results, and ensuring each robot is fully qualified before shipment.
In addition to new-build qualifications, this position supports RMA evaluation by troubleshooting returned robots and assemblies, documenting failure conditions, identifying likely causes, and recommending practical repair paths to restore equipment to specification.
Key Responsibilities:
Robot Final Test & Qualification
· Load robot firmware, motor files, image files, parameter files, and configuration files according to controlled procedures.
· Perform robot calibration, homing, hard-stop verification, station setup, and axis checks for radial, theta, vertical, and end-effector motion.
· Use robot control software, command interfaces, teach pendant functions, and approved macros to move, teach, test, and diagnose robot motion.
· Run burn-in testing and repeatability testing using approved test stations, scripts, fixtures, and documented acceptance criteria.
· Review alarms, motion behavior, test outputs, repeatability results, and diagnostic information to confirm robot performance or identify failures.
Sensors, Vacuum, I/O & Wafer-Handling Checks
· Perform vacuum, valve, wafer-presence sensor, wafer mapping, and digital I/O verification.
· Confirm robot outputs, test inputs, interlocks, end-effector behavior, and station interactions according to the applicable test procedure.
· Identify abnormal sensor response, vacuum leaks, mapping failures, motion errors, or configuration issues and document findings clearly.
RMA Troubleshooting & Repair Recommendations
· Perform diagnostic evaluation of returned robots, subassemblies, and related hardware.
· Review reported symptoms, customer failure descriptions, test history, logs, configuration files, alarms, and mechanical/electrical condition.
· Use electrical checks, software diagnostics, controlled robot movement, mechanical inspection, and repeat testing to isolate likely failure causes.
· Recommend repair actions such as component replacement, recalibration, firmware/configuration correction, retest, or escalation to Engineering, Quality, or Production leadership.
· Document RMA findings, recommended disposition, and repair verification results in a clear and traceable manner.
Documentation, Backup & Shipment Release
· Complete final test checklists, calibration records, test logs, backup files, customer documentation, and shipment-release paperwork.
· Ensure the correct controlled files, documentation, and test records are saved and organized before shipment or return to customer.
· Maintain accurate pass/fail records and communicate open issues, blockers, and retest needs.
· Support continuous improvement of test procedures, checklists, visual workflow standards, and troubleshooting guides.
Required Qualifications & Technical Skills:
· 2+ years of experience in robotics, automation, electronics testing, semiconductor equipment, machine build/test, field service, mechatronics, or motion-control diagnostics.
· Comfortable using Windows-based test software, file directories, configuration files, controlled test files, and basic command/terminal-style interfaces.
· Ability to follow detailed test procedures, travelers, checklists, and documentation requirements without skipping process steps.
· Working knowledge of sensors, motors, encoders, vacuum/pneumatics, digital I/O, or motion-control systems.
· Ability to use basic electrical test equipment such as a digital multimeter to verify signals, power, continuity, and related conditions.
· Strong attention to detail and ability to identify abnormal robot motion, alarms, failed tests, incorrect configuration, or documentation gaps.
· Ability to troubleshoot returned or failed equipment using symptoms, test results, logs, electrical checks, mechanical inspection, and motion-control behavior to recommend practical repair actions.
· Associate degree, technical school, military technical training, or equivalent hands-on experience in electronics, automation, mechatronics, robotics, or a related technical field.
Preferred Attributes:
· Experience with semiconductor wafer-handling robots, aligners, load ports, FOUPs, vacuum end effectors, or automated substrate-handling equipment.
· Experience running calibration, burn-in, repeatability, final acceptance, or RMA diagnostic testing.
· Familiarity with wafer presence sensors, wafer mapping, vacuum circuits, pneumatic valves, digital handshakes, and automated equipment interlocks.
· Experience working in a cleanroom, lab, or controlled manufacturing environment.
· Ability to communicate technical findings clearly to Production, Engineering, Quality, Service, or customer-facing teams.

Physical / Work Environment
· Work is performed primarily in a clean, climate-controlled production/test environment.
· Must be able to stand, bend, reach, use hand tools and test equipment, and work safely around powered automated equipment.
· Must be able to handle precision mechanical/electrical assemblies and follow applicable safety and ESD controls.
· Occasional travel (domestic and international) may be required to support field issues.
