Director of Title Services, Grants and Curriculum Coordinator
GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB
Under limited supervision, performs a variety of supervisory and administrative tasks in monitoring and administering the operation of the Title I, Title II, Title III and High Ability Programs according to Federal and State Guidelines. The Director is also responsible for providing the best possible opportunities for students attending Title I schools or receiving Title I, Title III, Title II, or High Ability services. The Director oversees the development of comprehensive program plans, implementation of planned programs, and monitoring of budgets in accordance with established federal, state, and local policies. In regards to curriculum, the director is responsible for coordinating, planning, developing and monitoring curriculum across grades K-12 for the district. The Director will ensure that instruction is aligned with Indiana College and Career Readiness Standards, interpreting changes to curriculum and informing administrators and personnel of the implications of those changes. The Director guides and helps to develop strategies for implementation and improvement. Finally, the director should demonstrate the necessary ability, knowledge, and personal qualities to skillfully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. Reports directly to the Superintendent.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS OF TITLE SERVICES & GRANTS
Monitors the effectiveness of the Title I, II, III and High Ability programs ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local policies. Reviews school plans, budgets, and visits schools to review documentation.
Responds to calls/inquiries/emails about Title I, II, III, and High Ability programming.
Develops and implements instructional policies and programs; interprets educational policies and procedures for a variety of audiences.
Prepares grant applications to receive Federal funds to implement the CARES and ESSER Grants, Title I, II, III, and High Ability programs; monitors grant expenditures, ensures programs are implemented within Federal rules and regulations.
Seeks additional grant opportunities for the school corporation and takes the initiative to research, write and submit such grants.
Monitors and keeps records of CARES and ESSER Grants, Title I, II, III and High Ability funds allocated to the Local Educational Agency (LEA). Authorizes the purchase of materials, supplies, and equipment for Title I, II, III and High Ability programs.
Supervises staff, provides staff with professional development opportunities; advises and consults staff.
Makes presentations on Title I, II, III and High Ability programs for parents and school staff. May provide additional professional development and training to staff in the areas of language arts and reading.
Maintains records of CARES and ESSER Grants, Title I, II, III, and High Ability programs; creates summary reports for the program; prepares and submits required local, state and federal reports.
Conducts personal administration duties for staff, including hiring, evaluating, assigning special duties, monitoring attendance and travel reports, and granting leave.
Coordinates, implements, and supervises the Title I, II, III and High Ability program activities, as well as seeks to expand parental involvement in the schools.
Conducts administrative meetings for Title I, II, III and High Ability with principals, teachers and other personnel. Communicates with other professional educators and the public to enhance school and system operations.
Disseminates appropriate information regarding federal grants and programming.
Administers student assessments, analyzes data, confers with classroom teachers and serves as a resource for materials needed based on assessments and data.
Provides classroom demonstrations on best practices in teaching reading/language arts.
Assumes responsibilities of RTI programming
Serves as a team player and role model for other employees in the organization and demonstrates a commitment to continuous quality improvement and system wide goals.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS OF CURRICULUM COORDINATOR
Leads in the development and maintenance of a positive coordinated educational program designed to meet the needs of all children.
Guides the administration team through the development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum and instruction
Assumes responsibility for design and implementation of a local system of assessment to include data gathering and analysis
Reports the curriculum and staff development needs of the schools
Guides development, implementation, and evaluation of orientation and in-service training programs for professional personnel
Works with building principals in the improvement of individual staff competencies
Frequently visits each school to observe classroom instruction and to encourage, guide and support the faculty and principals in working toward achieving the necessary learning results in K-12
Ensures district-level personnel, teachers and principals are familiar with any changes to the Indiana College and Career Readiness Standards
Designs and oversees the development of curriculum to support the implementation of the Indiana College and Career Readiness Standards
Assists the school system with the selection of appropriate textbooks, teacher guides, curriculum maps and other instructional materials and/or equipment
Helps teachers and personnel link best practices and materials to standards
Helps schools analyze data and identify appropriate re-teaching methods and strategies
Engages in vertical articulation of K-12 curriculum goals and objectives
ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Performs other related work as required.
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Must hold a Building Level Administrator’s License. Minimum 5 years of teaching experience with program coordination, literacy coaching and supervisory experience, or equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
