About Beagle Technology
Beagle Technology is an agricultural robotics company developing AI-powered harvesting solutions for the fresh produce industry. Our autonomous harvesting systems combine computer vision, robotics, mechanical engineering, electrical controls, and software to help growers improve productivity, improve harvest consistency, and address labor shortages.
As we continue expanding across North America and Australia, we're looking for a motivated Mechatronics Engineer to join our U.S. engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge agricultural robotics while collaborating closely with engineering teams and customers in both the United States and Australia.
About the Role
As a Mechatronics Engineer, you will support the deployment, testing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of Beagle's autonomous harvesting systems. You'll work across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and software disciplines in both workshop and field environments.
This role is highly hands-on and ideal for someone who enjoys solving practical engineering challenges, working directly with customers, and seeing their engineering solutions operate in real agricultural environments.
You'll also play an important role in supporting Beagle's growing Australian operations through periodic international travel for customer deployments, engineering collaboration, training, and product development.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble, test, commission, and validate autonomous harvesting equipment
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control system issues
- Support customer deployments, equipment installations, and field demonstrations throughout the United States
- Travel to Australia periodically to assist with product deployment, engineering support, customer training, and field validation
- Perform preventative maintenance, calibration, and system optimization
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams in the United States, Australia, and China
- Document engineering changes, testing procedures, field reports, and service documentation
- Assist with prototype development and continuous product improvement
- Provide technical support during customer installations and field operations
- Participate in product testing under varying environmental and field conditions
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor's degree in one of the following:
- Mechatronics Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering

- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with robotics, automation, or autonomous systems
- Experience using CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
- Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Knowledge of CAN Bus communication
- Experience with Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or embedded systems
- Agricultural equipment or heavy machinery experience is a plus
- Experience working in outdoor or field environments is beneficial
Language Skills
Required
Preferred
- Mandarin Chinese language skills are highly desirable, as this role will collaborate frequently with members of Beagle's global engineering team in China.
Travel Requirements
This position includes both domestic and international travel.
The successful candidate should be:
- Willing to travel approximately 20–40% as business needs require
- Available for periodic travel throughout the United States to support customer installations, field testing, demonstrations, and service activities
- Willing and able to travel internationally to Australia for engineering collaboration, customer support, product deployment, and training
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Able to obtain and maintain the necessary travel documentation, including an Australian visa (or other required entry authorization), for business travel
Travel schedules may range from short domestic trips to international assignments lasting one to three weeks.
What We Offer
