Full Job Description

BlueCrest Group has an immediate need for a Staff Bookkeeper who loves business and doesn't like being bored doing the same thing every day. You will work directly with department managers across financial reporting and budgeting, focusing on P&L analysis, balance sheet reconciliation, and expense and profit analysis. BlueCrest Group is located in Sarasota and oversees a network of online retail, marketing, and manufacturing businesses and assets. We are seeking an experienced accounting professional to perform general accounting work, analysis, reporting, and preparation of the organization's financial statements. You will support department managers, help implement and manage internal processes and controls, and work closely with our CPA firm to provide data on employee W-2s and business tax returns (you will not be responsible for creating tax returns).

Is a proactive self-starter. You anticipate needs and take initiative. You see a goal, take ownership of it, and get it done.

Has a sharp, analytical mind. You don't just log numbers, you understand what they mean. You'll be analyzing P&Ls, preparing financial reports, and helping us map out future projections.

Handles the compliance details. You have solid experience managing multi-state sales tax reporting and other routine state and local requirements.

Knows the tools of the trade. You have strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online and standard bookkeeping.

Essential Functions

Manage full-cycle bookkeeping in QuickBooks Online, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank and credit card reconciliations.

Close the monthly books and prepare P&Ls.

Prepare and file multi-state sales tax returns and other recurring state and local filings.

Process payroll and maintain related records.

Audit and reconcile financial reports, ensuring they are accurate, timely, and easy to understand.

Support cash-flow forecasting and forward-looking projections.

Develop new or revised procedures to simplify and improve operations.

Provide detailed accounting records and reports to help management make decisions.

Requirements

Proven full-cycle bookkeeping experience (accounting degree or minimum 2 years experience).

Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online.

Multi-state sales tax filing experience (required).

Payroll processing experience (required).

Financial reporting, data analysis, and projections experience (required).

Extensive knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and financial reporting.

Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally, and to be trusted with confidential information.

Experience with e-commerce and manufacturing-based businesses is a plus.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
