Activities Coordinator – Memory Care

Grand Villa of Englewood is seeking a dedicated and energetic Activities Coordinator to join our team and enhance the quality of life for our residents in the memory care unit. We are committed to providing compassionate, engaging, and meaningful activities that promote well-being and joy for seniors with memory and dementia challenges. If you have a passion for working with seniors and possess the creativity and professionalism to develop impactful programs, we invite you to become a vital part of our community.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, plan, and implement engaging recreational activities tailored to residents with memory impairments and dementia.
Assess residents’ interests, abilities, and needs to create personalized activity plans.
Foster a positive and stimulating environment that encourages socialization, cognitive engagement, and physical activity.
Collaborate with staff, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure activities support residents’ overall well-being.
Monitor and document residents’ participation and progress in activities.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized activity space.
Stay informed about best practices and innovative approaches in memory care activities.

Skills and Qualifications:

Proven experience working with seniors, particularly those with memory loss or dementia.
Strong knowledge of recreational therapy principles and activity programming.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Creative, energetic, and compassionate with a genuine passion for elder care.
Ability to assess individual needs and adapt activities accordingly.
Certification in recreational therapy, activity coordination, or related field preferred.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
