All Faiths Food Bank is seeking a compassionate, resourceful, and community-focused Resource Navigator to serve neighbors at Margie's Market, our choice-style food pantry located in Sarasota's Newtown community.
As the Resource Navigator, you'll work one-on-one with neighbors to connect them with vital public assistance programs, community resources, and wraparound services that help reduce food insecurity and improve long-term financial stability. You'll also represent All Faiths Food Bank throughout the community, building relationships and increasing awareness of available services.

What You'll Do
- Welcome neighbors and provide exceptional customer service in a respectful, neighbor-centered environment
- Conduct intake and needs assessments to determine eligibility for assistance programs
- Assist neighbors with applications for SNAP, Medicaid, TANF, LIHEAP, Reemployment Assistance, housing programs, Seasons of Sharing, and other federal, state, and local benefits
- Follow up to ensure applications are completed, documentation is submitted, and benefits are received or renewed
- Connect neighbors with community partners for housing, healthcare, employment, utility assistance, financial resources, and additional support services
- Develop action plans for households experiencing complex challenges and provide crisis intervention when appropriate
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records using systems including Link2Feed and UniteUs
- Track program outcomes and ensure compliance with reporting requirements
- Collaborate with internal departments and community partners to coordinate wraparound services
- Serve as the primary point of contact for logistics, reporting, and data requests related to Wrap Around Services at Margie's Market
- Represent All Faiths Food Bank at community meetings, workshops, coalitions, and outreach events
- Maintain required certifications and stay current on public assistance policies
- Assist with community engagement activities and food distributions as needed
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who:
- Has strong knowledge of the Newtown community (residents or individuals with deep community connections are strongly preferred)
- Builds trust quickly and enjoys helping people navigate difficult situations
- Demonstrates empathy, cultural awareness, and excellent communication skills
- Can manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality
- Is comfortable using Microsoft Office and electronic databases
- Has strong organizational, documentation, and problem-solving skills
- Has experience with motivational interviewing (preferred)
Qualifications
- Knowledge of the Newtown community is required; Newtown residents or community members are strongly preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related field OR at least three years of professional experience in case management, social work, or human services
- Bilingual in Spanish or Haitian Creole is preferred
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends

- Wednesday: 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM
- Thursday: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
- Friday: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
- Saturday: 7:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and sometimes noisy environment
- Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions when supporting community events or food distributions
