Clinical Magnet, a division of ICON Medical Network, is looking for an experienced Laboratory Director to join our partner's full-time team in Morrisville, Vermont. This leadership opportunity offers the chance to oversee a busy clinical laboratory within a respected critical access hospital while working alongside an established leadership team. You'll play a key role in supporting laboratory operations, developing staff, ensuring regulatory excellence, and guiding the future growth of an essential healthcare department.

Laboratory Director Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for all clinical laboratory services.
- Oversee daily laboratory operations while ensuring quality, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
- Lead, mentor, develop, and inspire laboratory staff while fostering a positive team culture.
- Ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP, OSHA, and other applicable regulatory standards.
- Partner with hospital leadership and medical staff to support high-quality diagnostic services and patient care.
- Oversee quality assurance, quality improvement initiatives, proficiency testing, and performance metrics.
- Support laboratory information systems (LIS), data integrity, interface management, and workflow optimization.
- Assist with budgeting, resource allocation, equipment planning, and operational improvements.
- Maintain high standards for laboratory safety, quality control, and best laboratory practices.
- Promote employee engagement, professional development, and continuous process improvement throughout the department.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or equivalent education meeting CLIA Technical Supervisor requirements.
- MLS (ASCP), MT (ASCP), CLS (NCA), or equivalent certification required.
- Four or more years of recent clinical laboratory experience required.
- Previous laboratory leadership or supervisory experience required.
- Qualification as a CLIA Laboratory Director or the ability to meet CLIA Laboratory Director requirements preferred.
- Master's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
- Experience overseeing multiple laboratory sections preferred.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory operations, quality systems, regulatory compliance, and laboratory information systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and team development skills.
