Full Job Description

TACK Electronics, part of the VEZA Manufacturing platform, is a manufacturer specializing in custom wire harnesses and cable assemblies across a variety of industries.

We are seeking a hands-on Engineering Support Technician to assist with new product introductions and support the successful launch of new customer programs. This role is ideal for someone with manufacturing or wire harness experience who enjoys building products, solving problems, and learning how new products move from engineering into production.

Working closely with the Engineering Manager, Operations, and Quality teams, you will help ensure new products are introduced efficiently and are ready for successful production.

Key Responsibilities

New Product Introduction Support

Assist with new product introduction (NPI) activities for customer programs
Review prints, bills of materials (BOMs), and work instructions to support product launches
Build first articles, prototypes, and pilot runs
Help create and maintain:
Work instructions
Visual aids
Assembly documentation
Verify materials, tooling, and documentation are available before production release
Support initial production builds and product launches

Production & Process Support

Assist with workstation setup and process implementation for new products
Support tooling, fixtures, and test equipment setup
Help identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and consistency
Assist in documenting manufacturing processes and assembly methods
Support traceability, labeling, and documentation requirements

Troubleshooting & Continuous Improvement

Help investigate build issues during initial production runs
Document problems and support corrective actions
Work with Engineering, Quality, and Operations teams to resolve manufacturing challenges
Participate in continuous improvement activities focused on:
Product quality
Assembly efficiency
Workplace organization
Standardization

Cross-Functional Coordination

Work closely with Engineering Manager, Production Supervisors, and Quality personnel
Communicate launch status, concerns, and improvement opportunities
Support smooth transition of products from launch to regular production

Qualifications

Required

1–3 years of experience in manufacturing, assembly, wire harness production, or a related environment
Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings, prints, and bills of materials
Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
Mechanical aptitude and comfort using basic assembly tools
Strong problem-solving skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
U.S. Citizenship required due to ITAR regulations

Preferred

Experience in wire harness or cable assembly manufacturing
Familiarity with schematics or electrical drawings
Experience creating work instructions or process documentation
Familiarity with IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards
Exposure to lean manufacturing concepts
