Full Job Description

We are searching for a friendly individual with a love for cats and dogs. The ability to lift to 30lbs is a must. This position requires standing or bending for extended periods. Job responsibilities include cleaning kennels, feeding animals, walking dogs, doing laundry, and maintaining the facility both inside and outside. No prior experience is necessary for this role. We offer thorough training in proper pet handling and restraint techniques to ensure you feel confident and capable in your duties. Shifts are available Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 1 PM, from 1 PM to 6 PM, and on Saturday from 8 AM to 3 PM. While the work schedule may vary, this position typically offers between 15 and 40 hours per week. Some holiday work is necessary.

Some Job duties may include:

· Taking care of patients boarding at our facility (ex. Feeding, cleaning, administering medication, taking them out for potty breaks, etc..)

· Clean and disinfect cages, kennels, examination rooms and operating rooms

· Restraining animals during examination and lab procedures

· Maintain and sterilizing surgical instruments and equipment

· Monitoring patients being hospitalized

· Providing support for emergency first aid for sick and injured patients

· Assisting in collecting blood, urine, fecal, and tissue samples

· Administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, follow-ups and answering phone calls in a polite and timely manner

· Keeping accurate records and logs for each patient

Requirements and Skills:

· Proven experience as a Veterinary Assistant and/or similar experience working with animals

· Experience in an administrative role and/or computer skills to maintain medical records about animals in veterinary software

· Excellent communication skills

· Patient and caring personality

· Ability to follow instructions properly

· Comfortable being around and handling both cats and dogs

· Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (ex. Lift up to at least 30lb above the waist)

· Availability to occasionally work in emergencies

· High school diploma, a certificate from a Veterinary Assistant program is a plus

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
