GENERAL SUMMARY
The Direct Consumer Loan Processor I is responsible for loan document preparation, funding, and disbursement of funds for all consumer loans while working directly with the lending specialists and providing superior member service and collaboration.
Position Duties & Functions
- Manages Loan Processing queue daily to ensure members receive loan documents within established service level agreements.
- Accurately generates and prepares applicable loan disclosures/documents for specific consumer loan products and utilizes electronic signature system to capture member signatures and/or initials correctly.
- Inspects returned loan documents to ensure all required signatures and/or initials are obtained prior to funding the loans.
- Funds consumer loans correctly and within established service level agreements.
- Ensures proper disbursement method for loan proceeds to recipients.
- Performs pre-funding audits of loans to ensure accuracy prior to OnBase retention.
- Assists lending specialists with requests and tasks needed to complete and process applications.
- Manages Pending Loan Packets queue and informs lending specialists of all loan packet delays and/or incomplete loan packets within established service level agreements.
- Achieves both individual and department goals for production, quality, and service.
- Provides phone support to the branches, Call Center, and Credit Union staff.
- Completes loan servicing cases as assigned within service level agreements.
- Provides loan product and process support to all Credit Union staff and members.
- Assists the branches and staff with processing functions and troubleshoots LOS input errors to correct in a timely manner.
- Maintains basic knowledge of the Credit Union’s loan products and services.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
EXPERIENCE and EDUCATION
- At least 1 year of related consumer lending experience required.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for stated qualifications.
KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS
- Ability to read and interpret consumer loan documents such as, but not limited to, credit bureau reports, Truth in Lending disclosures, promissory notes, rate tables, and policy and procedure manuals.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written form, including but not limited to policy and procedure manuals, Regulation Z, Section 91 – The Fair Credit Reporting Act, and UCC.
- Ability to write and speak effectively in English using correct spelling and grammar.
- Basic math skills including the ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages using a 10-key.
- Proficient in the use of basic applications in a Windows-based environment, including Outlook, Word, and Excel. Moderate keyboard skills at 40 wpm.
- Excellent customer service skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Work involves extensive use of computers, up to eight hours per day. Appropriate vision, dexterity, and other physical abilities are required.
- May include occasional pushing, pulling, or carrying objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Must be able to speak and present on the telephone and/or through digital means of communication, including but not limited to Zoom/Teams/or other video technologies.
- Flexibility to occasionally work early or late hours and periodic weekend hours, typically with advance notice.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:

Pay Range: $23.77 - $32.68 per hour
This position is eligible to participate in the Corporate Incentive Plan. Annual incentive opportunity ranges from 0–8% of incentive eligible earnings, based on a combination of institutional performance (0–2%) and individual performance (0–6%). Incentive payments are discretionary and subject to approval.
