What Smithers-Oasis has to offer:
- HOURS: Typical full-time 1st shift hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm. Overtime hours will be required based on business needs.
- PAY: Starting pay is $18.00/hour, based on experience.

Some responsibilities of the Shipping Clerk include (but are not limited to):
- Pick, pack, process, and ship daily consumer orders using various parcel carriers.
- Prepare shipping documentation for warehouse personnel to pick, process, stage, and load outbound truck shipments.
- Audit Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) and Full Truckload (FTL) shipments for accuracy prior to loading.
- Generate shipping labels and documentation using multiple shipping software platforms, including FedEx, UPS, DHL, and other carrier systems.
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate shipping records.
- Utilize warehouse scanner technology and inventory management software.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments and transportation partners regarding shipment status and shipping requirements.
- Assist in maintaining an organized, clean, and safe work area.
- Support the warehouse team as needed to meet customer shipping deadlines.
Qualifications/Requirements include:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Basic math and computer proficiency required.
- Comfortable learning multiple shipping software applications.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal communication and telephone etiquette.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic are essential.
- Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively and prioritize daily workload.
- Previous shipping or warehouse experience preferred.
- Experience using barcode scanners or warehouse management systems preferred.
- Forklift and/or order picker experience is a plus but not required.
- Must be capable of picking, packing, and preparing approximately 5–25 consumer orders per day.
- Lift, carry, push, and pull small packages as required.
- Perform audits of staged palletized shipments.
- Frequent exposure to fumes, dust, and noise. Must be capable of dealing with undesirable climates and hazardous chemicals.
- To complete duties and responsibilities overtime may be required.
