Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Senior Buyer to join our procurement team and support the Materials Manager. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement, inventory management, and materials planning, with experience analyzing market trends, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and services.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Procurement Management
- Source, evaluate, negotiate, and establish agreements with suppliers to optimize costs while maintaining quality, service, and reliability.
- Maintain strong supplier relationships while monitoring supplier performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand purchasing requirements, product specifications, and business needs.
Inventory Planning and Management
- Utilize ERP systems to analyze inventory levels, demand forecasts, and replenishment requirements.
- Develop and implement inventory control strategies to minimize excess and obsolete inventory.
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure product availability and timely order fulfillment.
Demand Forecasting
- Collaborate with Production, Materials, and other departments to analyze demand trends and market conditions.
- Develop accurate demand forecasts to support procurement planning and inventory performance.
- Monitor forecast accuracy and recommend improvements based on historical performance and changing business needs.
Negotiation Skills
- Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms, pricing, contract agreements, and reliable delivery schedules.
- Continuously seek opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
Data Analysis
- Analyze data from ERP systems to identify trends, cost-savings opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Generate reports on procurement activities, inventory, and supplier performance for management review.
- Provide recommendations to help improve purchasing and inventory operations.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, buying, or planning; 4–5 years of experience preferred.
- Strong experience working with ERP systems, with proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
- Proven negotiation skills with a track record of achieving cost savings.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Familiarity with industry regulations and best practices in procurement.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills preferred.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
