THE ROLE
We are hiring an Architectural Millwork Designer to support the design, detailing, and execution of commercial millwork projects across the country. Working closely with the project manager, estimator fabrication team and installation team, you will clarify element details and develop accurate shop drawings that help move projects efficiently from concept through production and installation.
This role is ideal for someone who understands commercial millwork, enjoys solving problems, and takes pride in producing clean, accurate work. An exceptional candidate will also have working knowledge of how the drawings create affect g-coding and CNC manufacturing.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
— Create detailed shop drawings and submittal packages for commercial millwork projects.
— Interpret architectural plans, elevations, finish schedules, specifications, and design concepts.
— Design and detail custom casework, fixtures, wall panel systems, countertops, and architectural woodwork.
— Coordinate project details with project managers, architects, clients, and fabrication teams.
— Review project requirements and identify potential design, constructability, or production issues before fabrication begins.
— Revise drawings based on client comments, RFIs, field conditions, and project changes.
— Support fabrication and installation teams by answering drawing-related questions and providing clarification when needed.
— Maintain project documentation and ensure drawing packages remain current throughout the life of the project.
— Participate in internal project coordination meetings and design review.
WHAT YOU BRING
— 2+ years of architectural millwork design, drafting, or detailing experience.
— Strong proficiency in AutoCAD.
— A working understanding of BlueBeam
— Experience creating shop drawings and submittal packages.
— Ability to read and interpret architectural plans, specifications, elevations, and finish schedules.
— Understanding of commercial millwork construction methods, materials, hardware, and finishes.
— Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
— Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
— Excellent communication and coordination skills.
— Ability to work independently while collaborating with project managers, clients, and fabrication teams.
— An exceptional candidate will also be able to generate CNC programming for our suite of Laguna tools.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
— Experience with Cabinet Vision or similar design software is a plus.
— Proficiency with Microsoft Office and PDF markup tools.
— Actively enrolled in an architectural, interior design, drafting, engineering or similar courses.
NICE TO HAVE
— Experience with restaurant, retail, hospitality, or multi-site rollout projects.
— Familiarity with AWI Architectural Woodwork Standards.
— Experience working in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
— Understanding of CNC manufacturing processes.
— Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
— Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periods.
— Ability to occasionally visit fabrication facilities and active construction sites.
— Ability to travel occasionally for field verification, client meetings, or project coordination.

— Portfolio or sample shop drawings may be requested during the interview process.
